Right went to fill up today and got to around 37quid then ........ click.....click...click click.
I gave up BUT had to get to the other side of carrageway where ther was another shell garage (1 mile in total from one garage to the other). Tried again to fill up but click click click.....got to a fiver then gave up.

So is this the norm for twingos once and a while or has something gone tits up????

happens all the time with them, they can be a nightmare, take the pump out, put it back in again, dont squeeze all the way down and it should be ok then :)

Why the desperation to get it absolutely rammed full?

But yeah, it's pretty normal for twingos.

its normal when using higher octane fuel, never had it happen on 95 but on 97/98 always happenes, its becasue of the small hole for anit syphoning the gas sets of the sensor becasue it cant escape.

happens on my mark 5 golf as well. just need to take it out, and then try again

You know what never had that issue, but about £37 of fuel surely that's almost full, well minus a few litres....! So the extra £5 wouldn't that be it...! Or am I missing the point?

at £37 i would have just gone and used it and hen filled up in the future,

but its annoying when happens after £4 and then kept clicking after every few pounds :p

it saves haulling about a load of extra fuel about for a few hundred miles.

Even with only 7/8ths full, on a long run, you will probably want to stop for a pee before the tank is empty.

Mine dose it with vpower and as chris said its a pain in the arse when u hit £4 and it clicks

Mine has done this once before in a Sainsburys garage. Problem was solved by holding the delivery tubing with my left hand pulling away from the pump and then leaving slack between that and the pump gun in my other hand, might be due to how the petrol is flowing in to the tank?

Just something ive always done to be honest but it takes 50quid from when the low fuel warning buzzer sounds. Ive tried all the usuall tricks but its a relief that alot of other twingo drivers have had of having the same issue. Since we got the car ive always filled with v power but never had the issue before.
