How do you hook up the handbrake cable so it plays dvds all the time?

It will only when the handbrake is up. Could wire it to any live at the back and it will work all the time then.

Ehat about the remote wire to the amp? Or cant it be a cable from the headunit?

Usually DVD screens just need to be earthed so they suggest you attach that connection to the handbrake so that it earths when the handbrake us up.

I've installed a couple of DVD players in cars and if you simply attach that earth to the back of the headunit, it earths it and the screen stays on fine.

Do you mean to the actual unit or connect to to an earth wire?
