I don't know what you decided but I just thought I'd let you know I bent my actual wheel doing this, driving on a flat even for a short distance and "pumped up" so I wouldn't!
 
Rob if your gonna change the wheel watch your knuckles when u wind the jack up I done mine not long ago
 
I drove on a flat before and had to have a whole new tyre coz I damaged the inside :( £200 I'll never get back for my own stupidity!
 
Guys, update:

Managed to fill the tyre as best i could and then drove very slowly to the garage (i couldnt get the wheel off and it was raining)
got there and i had a nail in the tyre, luckily they managed to fix it and they checked the tyre over and it was fine so i have a very close call/lucky escape!

cost me £14.40 in the end instead of a new conti which is what... £140 fitted?
 
Depends where you go but that seems like £30 too much to me
