Aww man!! Could have been alot worse though!!

Tell be about it, a couple of months ago my better half managed to do that, however she manage to go full circle round the alloy :(

I will get it fixed but until selling / trading I don't think its worth it as it will only happen again.

By the way how much do you think renault would knock off the trade-in value for a damaged alloy. i.e. is it worth getting fixed or taking a hit on the trad-in price. ?

That is gutting although it doesn't look like the worst it could have been.

The only problem you have is that effectively the face of these rims is bare metal that's been lacquered. The problem you have with that is that if you get a chip or damage to the lacquer it can cause it to flake off more than if it were on a painted wheel.

When I had the wheels on my Lupo refurbished I requested a polished lip. they actually recommended that the lip remained bare metal because getting lacquer to work properly on bare metal was tricky and often ended up flaking.

If you don't want to pay for a refurb immediately, just keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't start causing a problem with the area around the damage.
