So I had a chance to look at this more closely and the purple linkage actually does work. It's for the recirculate function. And funny... It works on recirculate which means there's a blockage as it comes into the cabin somewhere.

Does anyone have a diagram as to where it comes in. I will try to get my workshop manual off the other hard drive. I did try to look but couldn't spot anything obvious

You know that dish that fits around the right hand suspension topmount and has a hole going through into the cabin.
I wouldn't be surprised if that was it ;)

I did think that! I was very very careful not to put anything down that spout!

Did you re-glue the foam cover back in place over the topmount? If so, is it still there?

Yes it is. I attached it with some adhesive when it all went back together.

I will take it apart again this weekend if its dry.

You can easily see through the mesh part of the scuttle panel to check if the foam cover is still in place.

Just a bit coincidental timing wise if something hasn't been eaten. Stray polly bag or something deciding to nest in there :?

I mean I will check for anything else. I already know the hat is still in place

 not yet! Haven't had the scuttle off to check yet. Think ill probably chuck her at Renault tbh but the one thing worrying me now is them damaging the flocked parts getting to the issue.

Tbh I've not even thought about it due to the weather, until this morning when it was quite nippy
