Hello, my name is Nathan and i'm new to the site. I am thinking about buying a car soon (used) and I am just wondering if 105,000 miles is good for a 2005 car, and is it best to have more or less miles. The car i'm looking at is a Renault Clio 1.2 mk2. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum, if it's diesel yer that would be fine if it has a full history, not sure about the Milage if on a petrol unless you know where it came from, 50-60k would be a good Milage aslong as the belts are done of course but this is just me talking lol :)

I suppose it depends on a few things:-
How well it has fared with the milage, how its been serviced/maintained/driven and the price.

If its not been maintained well, there may be some expensive repair costs ahead.
If its been owned by someone who's on the large side, the seat will be nackred.

The price is around the 800 mark, ha the 'large' side, i suppose ill just have to go down and check it out before buying. At the end of the day its only my first car, but i still want a good en ha. Cheers for the advice

Tanks for the advice mate, any advice is good at the moment ha, I suppose it'l just take a lot of searching around.

Price wise, that's not too bad when compared to a quick search on auto trader and selecting price £500-1000. Most of the results are 2003 or older and there's several 100k.

Don't underestimate what a good clean can do ;) So long as the interior isn't ripped or torn etc, mucky carpets and seats can be scrubbed up. It will cost a bit and a lot of elbow grease... there's some good examples on detailing world of sheds being turned into looking quite presentable.
Likewise with the paint. So long as its not rusted or has deep scratches, dull faded paint can probably be made to shine with some effort.
