How to get the air box off? :(

Oh yeah definitely it sounds really gargley (if that's a word) now although it does kind of mean that I thrash it a bit more because the sound is addictive

I need to find a smaller silicone hose to replace mine. It was slightly too big so touches the power steering fluid reservoir

Needs to be an immediate bend really. Sounds good though of course. Once I get a replacement pipe I can sort the cold air feed, as currently it's pushed to an angle and I don't like it

Also don't like that bracket which I moved but didn't take any more, equally poor, pictures

I didn't need to put the bracket on mine, it doesn't rattle or move as it is, it rests on top of the metal cage from the original air box so all is good :)

Also I have no idea if that's a good place to put the ducting haha I seems like the furthest place away from the engine and radiator so that's why I stuck it there :/

Can you just cut a couple of mm from the end that goes onto the throttle body. Or, will the inside of the bend then rub on the throttle body motor? Silicone hoses wear fairly quickly if they are going to rub against something

To neatly trim a silicone hose, remove the hose then tighten the jubilee clamp back onto the hose where you want to trim back to, as a guide to cut against. Stanley knife or similar sharp blade and cut down to the jubilee and follow it round for a straight neat cut

I've already marked it up with some tape. But I would rather one made to fit  tbh it wasn't expensive so I'm not that fussed about giving it a bit of a chop. £13 delivered ebay special

It is sturdy enough to not require a bracket, but I was playing around with how it would fit. Sounds beastly at full clap, picked my dad up earlier (first time he's been in it for ages) and kept telling me to boot it. I had to be restrained

If its touching next to the brake reservoir, but clear of the throttle body motor by Xmm, just set the jubilee clip at half Xmm from the end of the hose and trim away. Dead easy. If its really tight for space, you would be safer having the hose touch the engine side rather than anything else in the engine bay which will remain stationary, as the hose will move with the engine so there will be less chaffing, when it rocks about in the engine mounts.

I chopped a clear inch and a half of (I'll measure it in a min) and I still need a few mm to come back off  I'm probably 2 mm from it being perfect. What a pain it is getting silicone pipes over slightly beaded lips!

Needs a cold air feed next but a huge improvement over the standard pipe and a fraction of the cost of the samco hoses etc. it's dead even between the TB and the reservoir now

Tell me about it, I bought a alloy connecting piece with beaded ends..

For people walking by on the streets, it must have looked like I was making sweet love with to my car.

But with some spittin (true story) and sweating, I got it in there :p

I thought, you had an open cone CDA look-a-like thingy?

 I've been meaning to buy a new pipe for a long time but this thread did admittedly kick me into gear on that one. Now I've got that, and the rear arches coming and ill sort out the noise from the suspension shell be fully sorted again. That and a few bits I want painting gloss black
