Can anyone figure out this bloody site?

I was just trying to find out how many RS Twingos there were and how many Gordinis. I'm assuming on there that when you check for Gordini, they've lumped in the 133 Gordini and the TCE one as well?

Also it says vehicles licensed so I'm assuming that's vehicles taxed in that year? I was looking at the graph here : https://howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/renault_twingo_gordini

I'm guessing that according to that, there are 310 taxed and 13 SORN. Am I right or just being a bit retarded? Assuming also that 200 are the 133 and the other 123 are Gordini TCE models???

Maybe I can help. I'm Olly Smith, the chap who created howmanyleft.co.uk (and an RS Clio owner!)

Licensed on the site means the number of cars with a valid tax disc. So at the end of September last year, there were 310 cars taxed and 13 SORNed that the DVLA had registered as "RENAULT TWINGO GORDINI".

It's worth noting that whatever the DVLA have on their database might not exactly match what the car was originally sold as... As I understand it, it costs Renault a fair whack of cash to register a new model name with the DVLA, so they tend not to give all the special editions their own individual identity on their registration documents. (to know for sure, check your V5 if you've got a TCE or a 133 and see if it just says 'TWINGO GORDINI' on it!)

In a bit of a rush this morning, so that was all typed in a bit of a hurry. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via @olly_smith on Twitter or [email protected] on email.

Hope that helped!

That is the best answer I've ever recieved to any question I've ever posted on a forum, EVER! lol

Also I get the impression you signed up to answer my question so a big thank you from me and that is exactly what I wanted to know. Explain all perfectly. :)

I've used the site on a few ocassions to check out unusual cars but the Twingo had me a big baffled. It's the DVLA that don't help my confusion either haha.

Thanks Ollie

Having looked, My 133 Gordini is registered as a 'Twingo Gordini' and therefore is not going to be part of the Renault Sport clasification :(

RENAULT TWINGO RENAULTSPORT
RENAULT TWINGO RENAULTSPORT 133
RENAULT TWINGO RENAULTSPORT CUP
RENAULT TWINGO RENAULTSPORT S-STONE GP

I guess the differentiation between RS133 Gordini and 1.2 Tce Gordini (and probably other make/models) could be made on the tax band or engine size if this was searchable on the DVLA information. Howevereven if it was avaliable, I bet changing the website code wouldn't be simple.

Nice one chap, that explains how the DVLA worked out how many of the Gordinis there are.

It shows there are 310 registered plus 13 SORN so that's 323 all in. We know all 200 of the Gordinis were sold so I'm assuming the other 123 are Gordini TCE models, which makes them damn rare.

I've had some pre-release sample data from the DfT that included engine capacity data. With any luck, they'll find the time to finish it off properly and include it in their next big annual data release. If they do, I'll get it up on the site as soon as possible!

Thanks for the great welcome on here, BTW - it's really great to come across a thoroughly nice single-make forum :D
