Well, you are old. So it's probably nothing to do with a lack of ****.

I suspect mine dropped due to this EU legislation regarding testicles and breasts and not allowing to penalise blokes for crashing.

I guess they don't get wrapped round lamposts and put into fields as much as 106gtis so the companies see them as a lower risk
suppose but a 2.5 twin turbo which u can see 400bhp from a few mod's. they still make so sense in my eye's ;)
Try insuring a modded one. Infact, try finding an un-modded one to insure in the first place

now this i dont understand those massive drops and increasing in payment o_O on what ground do they make this numbers it makes no sense  .... ?

They probably work it out using a formula on a computer where they just punch in your deets and see what comes out.
So that said I suppose if one or more of the variables (age/NCB) changed for the better then that could throw the calculation off and give a hugely different reading
I would guess it all depends on how they've got it set up

I paid £680 for a 1.2 Corsa B at the start of last year, bought the Twingo in August and it went up to £980, getting quotes at the moment for £500 ok i did turn 21 in September but i didn't think it was that much of a difference!

Just looked at quotes for an Audi A5 Sportback and it came in at £280, which is £20 less than I paid this year for the Twingo.

So I checked quote for the Twingo and that came in at £249.

Guess that's the bonus of turning 50

Just to add...

I ran a quote through for a FERRARI F430 Convertible for - £1029 with no voluntary excess and a protected bonus!!!

Oh the joys of being an old fart

Jesus, £4k for feckin car insurance? That's just insane, in my eyes that's an insurer's way of saying "We're not interested in your business".

I actually have a theory that insurance quotes are just random numbers chosen out of a hat too. Not long after I passed my test, I was quoted £1400 on the blue Clio I had as my first car. Little did I know I could've gotten insured on a G7 Toyota Celica for the same figure...

Unbelievable! That's not much more than I'm paying at 20 years old for the 133  My dad is 44 and only pays something like £200 a year for his Octavia VRS :?

Just been quoted £769 for my next year, that's fully comp, £150 excess and 2year NCB 21years old

You're being done. You have a year on me, and my Wind is £150 for the year, so the extra £100 must be for the RS badge and the rear seats. :p

#2 daughter just got rid of her Corsa VXR for a Volvo C30. The Corsa was over £1100 for the year, and the C30 is around £300. Okay, she has gone from 190bhp to 150bhp, but its a more valuable car - so it just shows how much of the stats is down to the type of car that youngsters knock the corners off.

Your job can also make a difference. Fishermen and offshore workers have a nasy habit of getting home, buying a flash new motor and crashing it soon after :(

I got a cheap quote for mine, declaring the mods as best as I could on the online form. However, when I phoned up, they don't insure cars with mods.... GRRRRR. Prestige were prety good and I emailed the list of mods/changes from my progress thread so everything is declared.

Girlfriend just got her renewal letter through, £1140 for a 1.2 Corsa Club (new shape). Phoned up and got it £400 cheaper from the same company (Diamond). WHY CAN'T THEY JUST GIVE YOU THEIR CHEAPEST PRICE IN THE FIRST PLACE?!?! Absolute *****.

THIS ANGERS ME. Although on a good note my insurance has gone down to £254 a year, Win.

Diamond just insured my girlfriend her first year driving 913 on a ford ka 1.3

Good luck with Diamond. We've currently got the ombudsman involved with them, as my wife's car is not as it was pre-accident. This is from July, last year.

Just had my renewal through, Admiral wanted 1198!!! Rang them and they matched a quote for 516! They are ridiculous!
