Just got my insurance renewal letter through the post... they want £440 to renew... went online and with the same company they quoted me £343. Odd?

Just phone them up and say I've found it cheaper elsewhere plus on the Internet your site was cheaper. Normally when you say it was cheaper elsewhere the renewal will magically go down in price.

Just irritates me that they don't offer me their best deal at the start rather than me having to faff about sorting it myself.

It's the ones who automatically renew if you dont respond and try it on that need to be stopped. Otherwise they're only a business at the end of the day

There was a segment on watchdog a few month back about this, they raised this point with a FSA person, said some rubbish, but they said best thing to do shop around see if you can get it cheaper, I not don't renew and ring them as a new custermer to get the better deal, stupid really, my girl friend is an insurence adviser and even she says it's just them after making profit, easier for them to just charge more for them to do less.

I can't even shop around for car insurance as I've got a claim but didnt lose my no claims. No other company's want to insurance me. Next April my insurance is going down by £1200 according to quotes I've already got!

Thought I'd resurrect this thread rather than start a new one. Just finished sorting out my new insurance, £350 for next years 133 insurance :D That's with most of the extras ticked too. Nice

Bit of both

Mine next year is £850 for a GT or £982 to keep my I-music...

That would be for a 19 year old with 2 years no claims in a A rated postcode
