How accurate is this as I know plenty of motorcycles which live outside in the * zones
dunno but I looked on a few and all said the same for my postcode. Good reason for you not to get a bike though. Did I just say that?

B zone.
My renewal should be around £550 i think.
Problem is, i renew on my birthday. Gives me a big figure and doesn't take into account my age on the day of renewal. Tried explaining it on the phone to them and they couldn't understand me. Frustrating as i could save £200!

Probably worth finding somewhere safe to park it for a day and renewing a day later unless your completely paranoid or realy need to drive on your birthday.

£200 this year, followed by the same senario next year etc

Ah, band C, better than my parents 'D and keep those motorcycles hidden' area! Explains my £70 refund when I moved. I've now paid £40 back for the Clio. Renewal in Septenber could be steep!

Would i not lose my 3 years No claims for having it uninsured for the day?

NCD can normaly be carried forwards for at least a year (maybe 2). The risk would be having the car uninsured for a day if it gets damaged or nicked and obviously, it shouldn't be on the road or driven.

Another option would be, take out the policy and cancel on day two/three. Then take out a new policy once your a year older... You would probably get stung for an admin fee though :( Have a word with one of the insurrers listed on the forum as this is kindof important

Or take out a short 6 month cover if it is possible and then well away from birthday and simple, save some wonga over the busy partying time!!

Mine went from £120 a month to £87 a month when I got my auto renewal notice in - Still £1050ish quid a year.

So checked for others and got to £630 for more mileage than I already have! £56 a month :)

Sainsburys of all people :S
