I have tried using bt open zone but it just goes really slow :-/ so that's why I use 3G all the time. I spoke to the guys at apple about the amount of data usage that iMessage uses and they said it would be minimal, but I have used it a fair bit :-|
And no, I dont use iCloud because I back up often on my mac and to use iCloud you have to be connected to wifi anyway?

iMessage uses a few KB a month, it's not eating your data. Also, iCloud wont use your download allowance as it doesn't download to the phone.

Whats your allowance?

Only 500mb but I never used to go over 300ish on my old one :-/

Will see how it's going along and will probably end up paying a couple of quid extra a month for 1gb
