The trophy is a car thats gonna hold its value though. they are still highly desirable and thats why people ask more coz people pay it
Fair point. I wonder if No1 is still about and not ended up in a hedge

Presume RUK have #1 in their collection. They do of the others
so I suppose makes No2 worth more

I'd rather have the last off the line, than the first. I'm sure that they have the same view as you.

fully agree, 500/500 is the win.

Was #2 not the press car that got handed out to all the magazines for them to torture?

I though it was HT05 ???

Have seen a couple in press shots

Ht05 cca
Hk05 zpr

The press cars are often looked after pretty well too, after all they want the journalists to like them

It's also not unheard of for the press cars to be tweaked a little, few more ponies etc. Alfa were famed for this

...and then thrashed to within an inch of their life. Not a problem for the next owner, but after the warranty has gone, there will be some poor bastid scratching his head and wondering why his car has worn out so quickly. Even if they are originally sold as 'ex-press' this will be lost within a couple of owners. Press cars should be (ab)used, then crushed.

Was thinking exactly the same thing.

Was reading on ClioSport the other day about the numbers and I'm pretty sure the earliest number offered to the public was something like number 7.

Yeah, so it's an early number but I wouldn't buy a Press model that had spent the first year of it's life being ragged.

I'd be gutted to think I'd had some ar5ehole like Clarkson smoking the tyres and burning the clutch out on a track.
And for Stig to be driving it on its door handles to get a quick lap time.

Yeah that's my thinking, I know they'd be serviced correctly etc but lets face it just by being a car journalist doesn't mean you're a great driver either. Anyone can put their foot down.

Chap on Meganesport.net bought an R26.R that had been used as a press car. Didn't have any problems with it as far as I am aware and was for a good price. But I must admit I wouldn't want one!
