They're great looking cars. Gotta get myself a drive in a 250 at some stage

I'd love to have a play with a trophy ;)

Not sure which prefer between the 225 or 250. If I had to go 225 id get the R26r in blue, or a a grey 250!

Theres now a Sport Yellow 250 in the Renault showroom window about 200m down the road from me, talk about rubbing it in a bit!

plus, yours looks pretty sweet bones

+1

Think the 225 is a very distinctive car. I still love the handbrake too :D

Sport yellow is nothing on liquid yellow. If they had a trophy in ly then that would be :p

if your at the national meet i can take you out in mine it is running at 307 bhp and the acceleration is a lot better than standard

Well, if I manage to make it to the national meet, that's an offer of a ride I can't turn down :)

megane chat =

face lift "shakin ur ass" shape megane sports 230,r26,f1 etc are very nice looking cars and i very nearly bought one as a daily runner, also lots of extra power available

the r26r's are brilliant and i could punch myself everyday for not buying the one we had at work
even if some of the colours were abit dodge

new shape megane 250's are up there with the nissan duke as being one of the uglyst cars on the road  nasty things
(soz max)

After owning mine for 20 months your the first to say that to me
We all have different tastes good job really otherwise life would be boring lol
what car have you got ?
Is it a subaru ?

Personally I prefer the fat arsed meg. Don't get me wrong the new RS megs are awesome I just prefer the shape of the old one.

Its like I like the angular shape of the old 3 door Astra, the new one is a is a complete rip of the meg. That's a bit of a tangent as I would rather eat my ass with a spoon than buy a vauxhall. What I'm getting at is to me all the cars in that segment now look the same, nothing really looks like the old meg.

To me the biggest downside to the new Megane 250 is that it looks too typically nice.

I know that doesn't make a lot of sense but what made the bum shape Megane stand out was that it was a Marmite looking car. That gave it character and made it stand out but kept it rare enough to stay interesting, unlike equally good but generic cars like the Focus ST.

I think the RS250 is a great looking, nicely made and by all accounts up there with the best RenaultSport models. It's just a shame that it blends in with other modern cars on the road all be it the much nicer cars out there.

I think when we look back in 20 years, people will look at the RS250 and say, 'Yeah it was a good car!' but that's about it. The bum shape Megane will probably get comments like, 'What the f*ck were Renault thinking' and that makes me smile! Hopefully it'll stand out as one of those crazy French designs. :)

I love the big butt shaped Megane but after dropping the twingo off for a service at Renault the other week and spotting a beautiful yellow 250 iv now got my heart set on one!!

Iv also seen a Gorgeous white 250 cup and lets say I had to be dragged away from it before I sold my soul just to buy it! I'm also really loving it in oyster grey.

I have to ask do you have the cup wheels? If so what's the cost of the tyres and do you think overall it's an expensive car to run?

If your at FCS then I'd love to have a look round your Megane if you don't mind :)

The biggest difference you'll notice is the fuel, tax and insurance on a Megane RS.

I'd imagine the RS250 is similar to run as an RS225. So you're looking at 24mpg on a steady drive (30 at a push on a motorway run), top tax bracket so £445 for the first year and £245 every other year and insurance group 17.

Compartatively the Twingo 133 will give you 35mpg pretty easily (50 on a motorway), tax is £165 and insurance group 8.

Personally, if I was doing average mileage (10-12k a year) I wouldn't fancy running any of the bigger engined turbo charged hot hatches. Doesn't mean I wouldn't run one though haha :)

Here's my mates rs250 with his shiny black alloys
