How much are these cameras? I know yotah has a professional one for his racing, but where do I find the permanent sd card type that stay in the car?

I use roadhawks which cost around £200 each, but i got both mine off eBay, one for £120 i think, and the 2nd one for £20!!! Sold without leads or mount, so nobody bidded, but i had spare leads and mounts from the first kit i bought (or you can buy them on the website)
There is an american version of the same product, called x-Driven i think. Exactly the same.

This is the wide angle lens, with gps and g-force sensitivity to auto record collisions.

If you wire it to the twingo interior light, it records as soon as you start the car, then it records for 20-30 mins after the car has stopped, then the twingo auto shuts power to the interior light and the camera goes off.

Thanks for all that great info - I will see if I can get something like your lead free deal on the cheap. It would be nice to know I would have some kind of come back if the same happens again.

About 4 years ago I was trying to get passed a Hilux on a two laned bit of road. He was in the right hand lane going under the speed limit and refusing to move over, holding everyone up!
Got fed up so decided so slip round the inside of him. As soon as I did this he swerved into the left lane like a ****. I had to slam on to avoid him. The right lane was clear now, so I started to go passed him, and again he swerved into my path completely cutting me up! This happened about 5 times until I eventually got passed! Admittedly I probably should have just stuck behind at a clear distance when I think about it now.
Anyway, I got passed and forgot about it. About 2 minutes later I pulled up at some traffic lights, sat there for a bit and could hear what sounded like someone trying to get into my car. I looked over to my left and there again was this **** leaning out of his Hilux trying to pull my door open! I couldn't believe it! I had to swerve over to the right to get the nutter's hand of my door!
Good job Mini's have auto lock!

Jees! that sounds proper scary - some people turn into complete tools when behind the wheel. I hate to generalise, but in my experience it is usually drivers of large cars that end up trying to prove something.

The longer the bonnet ......

I find this even more the case when driving an even more girly car - the peugeot 107 - people presume you are a tiny old lady off to the flower shops. That car is always capable of surprising a few people :)
