Lol twingo owners suggesting the 1 series comes with piddly engines
They are piddly in comparison to that model, I've owned big engined cars, I chose to go to a smaller engine for costs sakes, I dont bum the twingo like most.
Costs sakes, identical insurance group than the new Megane 265. I'm 25 with 7yrs no claims, costs me £640 fully comp to insure. It has similar 'stated' mpg compared to the Megane, in reality driving like a tool with town driving I got 200miles from 45l (20mpg), this was the first weekend and week I had it. Commuting to work/to Yeovil, 290 and 320miles from again 45l (30mpg). Same tax banding. Is over £10k cheaper than the Megane (used BMW against new Megane). I admit new prices, Bimmer is £6k more but if you fully load the Megane, for an extra £2/3k you could afford a factory spec 135i...?
Servicing costs, it's not an M, so parts and labour will be similar to other 1 Series and if you take it to a specialist, you'll half your labour costs again.
Only thing that 'can' go wrong with the 135i which has the N54 lump is the high pressure fuel pump, but with a yrs warranty, I'm not bothered. Plus if it goes after warranty expires, then it's still cheaper to replace than taking out extended BMW warranty.
But yes, when comparing it to a Twingo, of course it will cost more.

This is one good looking and quick car!!
Cheers
, is certainly more of a looker than the hatch!
Got a few aesthetic mods planned, wanting to replace the kidneys to all black, the angel eyes to xenons, the rear light clusters to the new optional darklines and finally maybe to wrap the roof in Di-Noc 3M carbon fibre but not too sure? That's it though!
