Need advice exhaust problems- don't cut out the silencers!!!

Ok phoned garage again just there and they said, again that car has 2 cats period and stated that renualt backs them up. So I called ktec (very helpful may i add - thank you) and they said that car has 1 cat and if garage could phone they would put them right. Phoned garage again and stated this and they refuse to call ktec and that there getting a diagram from Renault for the cars exhaust and will call me back to prove I'm wrong. Guess its gonna be embarrassing for them when that diagram gets sent to there workshop (altho it's quite clear they are talking **** and have lost my custom)

Anyway, car gets a manifold back ss exhaust Monday and mot from elite custom exhausts in Ayr

I hope you're not getting the new exhaust just to pass the mot!
Go elsewhere but make sure you get them to acknowledge there's only one cat just for laughs

I have the workshop manual open now, if you want them to read the part 19b which refers to the removal of the 1 cat...

Ok here you go, I will only keep this up for so long though.

The last page interests me the most.

The catalytic converter cannot be separated from
the exhaust manifold.
Replace the "exhaust manifold - catalytic converter"
assembly if the catalytic converter is faulty (see 12A,
Fuel mixture, Exhaust manifold: Removal - Refitting,
page 12A-48) .

Well somewhere along the lines it came from someone at Renault

I'm not a fan of national, they told me I needed a hole new exhaust system for my old punto, in fact I had a faulty ecu... Can't remember the specifics as it was a few years ago, but they were well off the mark anyway.. They also told my mom she needed a new gearbox, nope the gearbox oil needed topping up... So yeah top garage ha.
