i just found this.

In 2008 a new law was passed by the European Commission that meant all new cars and small vans purchased after February 2011 had to have daytime running lights, and lorries will follow suit from August 2012

on anther note, whilst searching there is actually a website again dlrs, :p The Association of Drivers against Daytime Running Lights

As it's only a facelift and not a full model re-design they don't have to fit DRLs into it. It's only for completely new model versions they have to fit DRLs by law. (According to the info posted by RUK over on the forums)

ok, i thought it included facelifts as well, but my mistake

I thought it was quite reasonable to presume that facelifts would also have to comply, especially given the length of lead time in some model updates, but yeah - apparently it's not the case. Meh

If they hadn't included the new extra round lights on the front, they could have designed some awesome looking DRLs into the "blade"

i thught that was teh whole reason for the round lights was to incorporate teh dlrs, that makes teh new round lights even worse :p
