I've got loads of trout pellets in my tackle box from last time I went carping. I will give that a go when the weather gets warmer. I got a really good deal on the koi. It was on a "early summer special deal" the guy said. Basicly it was 3 koi sized 3-4" for £10 so I bought two lots. :D
wtf that's cheap in my area i was paying £9 for a 4-5" koi i got 10 and all of them died within a year from fungi and fin rot lol. i just have a few green tench and common's and mirrors left :(

Wow either I got a good deal or you got ripped off.Lol From looking around in different shops iv realised that even 1 inch between different sizes can make a huge difference in price! Did you not attempt to treat your fish? I'm a very keen angler in the summer so the thought of being able to buy tench, barble and uk type carp might be a must for me! Lol

i tried with no affect it was only the koi's that died for some reason. i recommend getting some carp and tench. i have load's of blood worm on the bottom of the pond the tench love them :D

When we had a fish that was showing signs of disease or distress, we would move it to a tank to treat. That way, you don't need to use so much additive in the water, and you don't end up treating a pond full of fish for something that they don't have.

We found that the worst time for fish was when they were first introduced to the pond. Once they had been there for a few months, they were fine.

Won't be buying anymore now think i have enough. I don't want to over crowd the pond when they start to grow! :D

Looking good. I'm still waiting for the meet thread at your house.......

today has been a event full day!! i had a phone call off a friend that has just sold his farm he said he had somthing for me.
on the grounds of his farm is a great big pond/lake. when i say big i mean big!!!

put it this way, last year he held a BBQ/mini festival for his 30th birthday and after a few pints out came the dingys!

its a fairly big hole in the ground!

so he said he had pulled out 100s of fish and is going to sell them to raise a bit of extra cash. he said theres some nice looking fish if i wanted them. Of course i jumped at the chance and said yes i would have them no problem. so he turned up at my house in a van and dropped them off.

now i was expecting the usual type of pond fish mirror carp, common carp ect....

so as you can imagine i was pritty shocked when he turned up with these big koi!!

he also gave me about 100 tiny carp. all different sizes, type and colour!

he told me there was fish 3 times the size of the big koi he gave me but he has sold them already! these have got to be the best free things iv had in a long time! my pond is looking awsome now!!!! iv got a relly nice koi with blue markings down the top of it but i didnt manage to get a pic when they was going in the pond!

It's not sad I happily sit and watch my tropical fish, it's very therapeutic.
