Hello,

My name is John and I drive a brand new 2012 Twingo RS with optional cup chassis, mirage grey paint and gloss black wheels.

I bought a mirage grey Twingo RS brand new back in 2009 without the cup pack and always regretted selling it - it was the most fun 'quirky' car I've ever had. When I found out there was just one mirage grey model left un-registered in the UK back in May, I literally signed the paperwork the next day; I'm not really a fan of the new facelifted model and was keen to get another old shape while still available. Definately keeping this one for a long time, hopefully longer than I've kept my previous cars...

2008 58 Twingo GT 1.2 TCE in Pearl Black, I fitted 16" Speedline Turini and they grey RS side decals.
2009 09 Twingo RS 1.6 16V in Mirage Grey, no cup pack.
2010 59 Clio Dynamique 1.2 16V in Mercury, big mistake!
2010 60 Megane Coupe 1.5 dCi in Oyster Grey, comfy and economical but boring.
2011 60 Clio GT 1.6 16V in Glacier White, lovely car, would have still had it if didn't find the new RS.
2012 12 Twingo RS 1.6 16V in Mirage Grey, full fat with cup pack and gloss black wheels.

Some people say I'm mad, but I really like my Renaults. No other car on the road can produce such an amazing sound, handle so well, yet still be the size of a shoebox.

welcome, dont have many of that colour on here.
Its the colour that I originaly wanted  but theres not many about :(

Welcome. From the name, i'd guess theres a steam train connection going on.

Wow, thank you for the warm welcome, wasn't expecting so many replies!

With regards to the name engine_shed, not a bad guess with the steam engine relation, never thought of that myself though - I just tinker with and rebuild engines in my shed. Sad, I know.

Some of your usernames look familiar, I was registered on the TwingoOC for a short while when I had my original Twingo's.

Also, in response to the Clio GT that nobody had heard of, it was a model that didn't run for very long, not many were made. It's basically a new shape Clio, with a body kit, the Twingo RS engine and a Clio 200 interior. The interesting thing about it was the 6 speed gearbox it had, it was lovely, and rumoured to be taken from the Clio 200 also. Here is a picture of my old car...

Really enjoying browsing the forum so far and looking forward to meeting some of you at the various meets. I'm planning on driving down to Dieppe for the factory tour later on this year, possibly next year - Is there a forum run down there planned at all?

All the best,

John
