hello tom, welcome along mate! you alright? good to see more twingo or possible twingo owners joining up, this place is already pretty busy! i'd point you towards the thread below, this is the most common problem with the renault sport twingo. if you're fairly mechanically minded then it's a 20 minute job per side, if not then it's a months wages after rent and food lol.

other common problems are a leaking scuttle panel, however this isn't so common. the rest are age related problems which are applicable to any car not just the twingo such as suspension top mount rubbers perishing and ARB bushing and bushing in general may be on it's way out. cheap fixes though. the 133 twingo is a pretty bloody robust and reliable car.

Hey Oscar, im good thanks you? and not to bad at all then! couldn't find much on the general net about issues which is always a good sign.

I shouldn't have to many problems doing those jobs myself as i've done my own mechanic work for years and a few engine swaps lol.

Whats your opinion on the one I posted above?

Thanks

Welcome Tom.

looks alright to me tom. obviously its 5/6 years old so it's still going to be in fairly good condition, nothing that a bit of love won't sort out but from looking at the engine i can't see anything that rings alarm bells or on the body work. interior looks good too! best thing to do would be to test drive it, jack it up and ... well you know how to check ball joints and wheel bearings using the north / south tyre wiggle and east / west. if it drives good and passes those tests, i'd say jobs a good one. the seller may just want a quick sale, and for 4 and a half tons i wouldn't expect it to stick around for too long. best to check neils thread out with questions that occur a lot,

edit * - hahaha, spent 10 minutes hunting for that and thinking ... where the hell do i remember the common problems / question section from, i find it then link and click submit then it says nuppppp neils already there :D

Thanks alot for that guys! I have emailed the seller to hopefully view the car at the weekend all being well :) looking forward to driving one.

Tom

There not a fast car, but it should handle well and in good condition factory spec, it should stop rather well.
Expect a fair amount of road noise and I wouldn't be surprised at a squeak or rattle from somewhere in the cabin.

So, from the above, a trip down a dual carriageway and back wouldn't be the best test drive. Warmed up with loads of revs to play with on a twisty(ish) road is where they can really make you smile
