Not had much luck lately with the twingo :/ first it was the front tyres which I except do wear down and I have no problem with replacing them, what I do have a problem with is when I order contisport 195/40/17s and get sent Michelin 235/60 r16s! So anyway I phone the place I brought them from online and they say they will come pick them up and then only when they have them back at the warehouse will they send the right ones out so I went else where and I'm still waiting for my refund after 2 weeks! :/ also I've just had my steering rack replaced today and had to live without my car for 2 days! my mum picked it up for me as I was working and I get home and look it over and find a patch of greenish coloured grease like stain on the drivers seat! Now I am known for being a bit OCD but this has really p***ed me off! Any way I've put some stain remover on it and hoping for the best. Rant over haha!

bad choice with the stain remover, if it doesn't come out then the garage has no responsibility whatsoever! take it back to the garage tomorrow and tell them that this stain wasn't there when you brought the car in. fly of the handle at them, do not take any crap. they are supposed to use bloody seat covers to sit on !!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm you think? :/ yeah I will deffo not letting it go, and that's what I thought! When they phone me to ask if I was satisfied with the work I will be saying no haha!

no seriously dude, straight back in first thing tomorrow morning. no fecking about :) or get your mum or someone to take it in for you???? you can't leave this sort of thing for too long, and you really don't want to see the price of a new seat lol trust me!

Good news and bad news! Good news is that the stains out but now that part of the seat looks cleaner than the rest! Bad news they have changed the steering rack but that's not fixed the problem! :(

was it done under warranty? i feel really really sorry for all the slaves that work in renault. such wonderful little cars, but all the workshop staff are rushed of their feet by the managers and most notably the service manager who makes people do jobs in half the time so that they can maximise profit. i wonder, do they realise that cars some in with rusty bolts etc so if it says in the book that it'll take an hour it'll actually take an hour and a half? not 30 bloody minutes! i really couldn't stand it. although i won't defend an incorrect diagnosis. i know that i know the ins and outs of most renaults 1998>2013 and the new line isn't anything foreign either, same old parts used over all the range :)

anyway, if it was done under warranty liam just take it back and get them to rectify the problem and do not leave without a fully free courtesy car. trust me, you'll be without a car for the next week (Y)

Yeah Oscar it was under warranty and yeah I'm going back tomorrow to tell them, the warranty runs out at the end of the month so need to be quick about it! And I won't get a courtesy car cos I'm only 19! :/

If it's their fault the courtesy car should be at their expense.

I managed to get courtesy cars when I was 18 and 19.

I had the same problem. Renault would never give my a courtesy car until I was over 21. I pay the same price as everybody else so I should be entitled to the same service. Really annoyed me. I claimed £100 from Renault UK when they had my old Twingo in for 3/4 days for a warranty fix because they wouldn't give me a courtesy car.

Yeah I know they should do but they told me last time the car was in that I couldn't because I wasn't 21 :/ oh really that's interesting don't reckon they'd give me anything as the car will only be in there two days I think, well I hope! It is unfair though especially when I had places I had to be over them two days and I had to walk! Might sound lazy but you know what's it's like when you have a car! ;)

Hello dbird, there is a Clicking noise coming from steering Column/rack. Renault have changed the steering rack and the noise is still there so I think we can rule out it being the rack!

That's the same problem as me! I was told it was the steering column extension? I've got a YouTube clip somewhere on here of my clicking noise

Just had a look at your video you posted and it's exactly the same thing! Have you not yet had it repaired?

Ah I see! No I'm a student so am waiting for final exams and earn a bit of money to pay for it, did you read the comments from Oscar? A couple of garages have told me it was my steering column extension as it's right behind the wheel so I'm gonna replace that part first and hopefully that's it, literally makes me cringe everytime I turn!

Oh right your out of warranty then? :/ it's an expensive job I think, have you had any quotes for prices? I know same it sounds horrible and you can feel it clicking as well! :(

I was told by oscar I could get the part for about 250 and I have a friend who has a home workshop so with the guide oscar sent me I can do it myself! Bargain..... Haha
