Great work mate and a really cool homage to the R26.R. Really suits the Twingo 133 too as they're so obviously from the same RS family. :)

Couple of quick updates from the phone. Had these for a couple weeks now...
New steering wheel
Chopped centre silencers out

I just discovered the topic, nice car and nice upgrades :)

I´m currently looking to change my steering wheel but I don´t know what system to put on which would cover the airbag problem and bip?
I want however to install the Renault Sport steering wheel from the R2 maybe with a pop-up wheel support to be able to move it a bit more backwards too (steering wheel is a bit far from me).

How about the carbon bonnet modification? Did you go for it? Find someone who can do it?

Probably best to have a chat with Ian Bigg and see what he can do on that one he has left. I was telling you about it at the weekend if you remember
Yes I do and thanks for that. He's already given me a price but hasn't mentioned that its not brand new. I'll have a word and see what I can do.

Seriously considering just wrapping it but I really don't want to...

Nah that's streamline. Ian runs a co. called big performance. He specialises in smart cars generally and branched out to do a few carbon bits and through association of a couple of people i believe it was, he ended up making a bonnet or two. I have to say I've dealt with Ian a fair bit and have always fund him a laugh and his work is very highly spoken of

Ok. Would be great to have a chat with him regarding some carbon stuff i want to do on my car and streamline carbon does good stuff bu not what i'm looking for my car.

I'm pretty sure that it was test fitted and that was it from what he told me. But tbh it was a while ago and I'd had a drink

Its my old bonnet from my GT. Ian Big Performance = Smart specialist

Ahh see when he described it to me, it was test fitted to your car. Never fitted! In that case I'd look at it and make him a cheeky offer with that knowledge

And of course I know they'#re a specialist

You wanting someone else to take the plunge first? hahah
I just don't like large areas of fake carbon... I also don't like spending large amounts of cash no real carbon :p

I have simply replaced the wheel and have put up with the lights on the dash. They've been on for so long (because of seats) it doesn't bother me. I do have a set of resistors that you can simply push into the plugs to turn the lights off.

Having thought about it... would you trust him really?

Legend when it comes to remapping and making a couple of insane motors, but... :p

Thats the man.

Maybe we should put this back on track with Matts progress thread now though.

But if anyone is intrested in what it looked like on a can follow the link below

It's an option however I've never used a skinning kit like that and I've had bad experiences with fibre glass lol.
