After having a bad RTA a fortnight ago (non fault) and being told by the insurers that my car is being repaired after thinking it would be a write off - I've decided I don't want it anymore and i'm going to throw it back at the dealers when its repaired (literally got 10 months to go).
Anyway today I went to look at a low mileage 2011 133 in red with the cup pack ex demo and put a deposit down (I need to confirm with my current finance deal what my options are re my original car).
Now i've never had a french car - what should I expect? - car looks great tho :)

Welcome, where abouts are you getting your twingo from?

From a Renault dealer in Hartlepool, car looked good, just a bit cold and snowy out when i viewed :)
 
twingos are huge amount of fun. i know u will think we are bias but everyone that goes to look seems to end up falling in love with them and end up getting one.

Thanks everyone, just trying to reassure myself it's a good choice (I'm making final decision hopefully tomorrow).
Previous car was/is a Toyota IQ, first brand new car i've owned, I was getting fed up of maintaining my own cars and i'm getting on a bit so decided to go the sensible route ;p If you want to be sensible the IQ is a great choice - 0 car tax and cheap to run - I've only ever opened the bonnet up to fill up the washer bottle, and this is me who has rebuilt cars and built engines etc.
The twingo will definately cost more to run but hopefully by not too much.
In the two years i've owned the IQ it's never missed a beat - will I expect that from the twingo ? Also a question I forgot to ask at the dealers - what are service costs / intervals like - wasn't that cheap for the IQ (well in my eyes anyway)
I was considering getting a 182 and buying outright but can't find one I like (plus going down the 2nd hand route again)
 
I picked mine up yesterday - pics to follow.

Did loads of research and I'm convinced you can't buy a better small hot hatch for the money. Driving it reminds me of my Clio 182 but it's half the insurance cost, less in road tax and much cheaper for fuel (it also fits my golf clubs horizontally in the boot, which even my sensible Audi A4 struggles to do!).

A new one sounds great but there's also real value in the 2nd hand market. Mine's two years old, 8k miles, every extra available and it only cost £7k - total bargain!!

I suggest you buy one immediately.

You won't find a more fun, amazing handling car for the cost of a 133. Well not in the new/nearly new sector.

My friend has an IQ and I'd say the interior is perhaps a little nicer than the 133. Has a slightly more quality feel to it.

But the Twingo is quicker, handles better, looks better and is far cooler overall. The 133 winds hands down every time. :)
