I have an intermitant rattle when cold on my 133, sounds just like lack of oil in hydraulic lifters to me but I'm fairly new to Twingo ownership. Done it maybe four or five times in the last couple of weeks always first start up after standing overnight and only lasts at most a few seconds.
Would the dephaser pully rattle like this ? Its done 45k and as far as I'm aware not had a belt done.
It had been serviced when I bought it but not sure what quality oil they used and it does have a Crossland filter on
Any advise welcome.
Cheers,
Simon.

The first thing I would do is get the engine warm and do an oil change..the warmer the oil, the thinner it is, the more the old oil drains out.
Put on a quality filter and use the correct grade of oil so you know its been done.... It could be cheap oil and this can cause problems, so can a weak return valve in a cheap oil filter... Its hard to say without hearing it but if it sounds like a lifter then you may have caught it early enough to stop further damage..

Already got myself an oil and filter so thats saturday mornings job, I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks.
