7.5 seconds is an impressive time I must admit. Bearing in mind the Clio 172's official 0-60 time was about 7.0 seconds!!

That said I have read of manufacturers being conservative with performance figures. I've heard that it's partly down to keeping insurance groups down but also I guess it could be their way of defining each car in their range.

For example people see that a Clio 200 can do 0-60 in 6.8 seconds or whatever it is. Customers would want to know that the extra they are paying out for a 200 means they're getting a significantly faster car than 133 that hits 60 in 8.8 seconds. If that makes sense haha

How accurate is the RS monitor. What sample rate does it use and what's the point at which it starts measuring. Also how accurate is the accelerometer calibration?

+1. Honestly the time seems not right to me, considering the power to weight ratio :oops: But if its true and right, all we can do is be happy about it...

the timer only sets it self when stationary and then starts when you go off automatic and keeps going until you hits 62mph and then resets back to zero when the car has stopped. same with the 1/4 mile timer.

dont know how accurate it is as tad difficult to check speedo and timer at smae time to see if it stops when the speedo hits 62 and trying not to crash :p

yeah, and i believe 1049kg is "dry" weight, without driver, fillings... E.g. my technical documentation states "running" weight at 1137kg... :?: :idea:

that weight brings us to renaults 8.8 seconds exactly

Ha that calculator can't take into account gearing or anything? So unless renaults figure is simply a simulation like that?

Reading the info at the bottom of the page, i don't think it is actualy a calculator. Merely comparing your inputed weight and power to other similar acceleration times form a database.

The power delivery torque curve, clutch , number of gear changes, 1st/2nd (3rd) gear ratios and final drive gearing, tyre specs, road surface grip and vehicle drag Cd will all affect the 0-60 times.

If you can get to 60 (62) in second gear, you may shave a couple of 1/10ths off a similar car that needed to change up to third. However a realy long 1st gear may mean the car spends a lot of time getting up towards peak power once the clutch is fully engaged and wheel spin has stopped.

in france (in fact in most country and science) we use Km/H

8.8 it's for O-100 Km/H that mean 0 to 62mph that mean you have to put the Third Gear (we use the O-100Km/H for measuring performance )
If you stop At 60mph you don't need the 3th gear so you perform easy a 7.8 sec

So 0-60 mph according Renault data is 7.8 sec and not 8.8 sec (or perhaps english also use a different system to mesure time ^^ )

camera on my car

60mph=96.56 km/h
so i'm allmost on time
