id ring custom cages and see how much they would charge u for one, that way u really can choose what u want bolt, weld, bars etc
plus u can get a "proper" cage with certs if u want/need

I inquired with Custom Cages a while back, was going to be £1400+vat for a weld in 6-point.

;)

 i didnt see that! those prices seem nuts!did u ask them for a custom build rather than one of there ready mades?

must admit i havnt bought a cage for 3-4 years now but have prices really gone up that much?
i know vat has gone up and everything is creeping up all the time but i think i paid about £450 for an omp 6point weld in with extra bars!!that was inc vat and cert!!

It was a custom made (no plans for a 133 one) weld in 6-point.

I think businesses have cottoned on to that anything trackday related is big money now. Just look at the price of semi-slicks and big callipers!

All part of the cyclical car modification era. Just the same as fashion, things go around. 5-10 years ago a strap on bodykit wouldv'e cost you a £1000, where as now probably about a tenner. 5-10 years before that it was all about power-power-power.

So, you heard it hear first - buy all your bodykits and dayglow hubcabs, because mark my word they are coming back big style!

Just been searching through my emails - I contacted Ktec at the end of October 2009 asking about a cage which at the time was going to be a "few months".

Thought I'd get in contact again today and have been told that "it does not look like we will be doing one for a few months yet". I'm guessing there just isn't the market for a 133 cage so it won't be made.

I was thinking if we can get 5 people who definitely want cages; ie: with a deposit, then we could approach various custom fabricators and see how much we could get one for?

We will now be making show cages starting from march 1st

Price is guess-timeated to be around the 300-500 Mark fully fitted
More details?

Who's making them?
What kind of cage?
What material?
Where will it be fitted?
Options like harness bars?
Weld in or bolt in?
etc etc

it will just be where the rear seats go, bolt in show cage very similar to this one...

will be made of stainless steel.

The cage will go in the place of the rear seats. my car went in today and we had a quick look but as we where so busy, didnt get time to take it all out.

Definitely interested, my seats are out at the moment, been moving stuff around. Good excuse not to put them back in ;) Should look good
