Oh and here's a pic from before when I fitted the turini's

There's a bad creak from the front spring seems to be twisting instead of the bearing and a slight squeak from there somewhere so need to get some new bearings for the twingo , also putting the white dini parts black and removing the stripes eventually but using the metallic black what the dini has here's progress so far

Dini slowly turning to dark side ;) black mirror surrounds haven't done spoiler yet seen as though ill be going cup spoiler eventually next stage stripe removal

So a much needed update!!

Due to moving up to Aberdeen the twingo has been neglected a little lately :( ,

Need to bring car wash stuff back up next time I go home.. It's filthy inside and out ! Few things I need to get done on it also:

Brake fluid change
Front and rear pads change
Spoiler painting
Deep interior clean and exterior clean
Turini refurb!

I have removed the solid mounts due to having lowering springs and not coilovers there was t enough pressure on the mount for bearing to turn easy so the springs were turning instead, they would work fine with standard springs or coilies however!

Got a bit to do so hopefully can start plodding a lot after this weekend again ...

The previous post still hasn't been done to much time wasted lately ! And been very busy for previous months! I admit I lost Interest in it for a few months but something has clicked lately with me with it! I'm back and back to start modding again however it will be slow due to purchasing my own place now too! Hopefully get it running sweet again and looking well!!! Keep tuned!!

i think it will look much better with the white parts turned black, they wheels will need to match though for a totally evil and aggressive look! are you doing the brake work yourself mate? if for w/e reason you're passing through glasgow anytime soon, come see me and i'll change your brake fluid. provide me with the fluid and i'll do it for sack all, but i'll assume you can do it already haha

Yeah I was just going to get a bleeder for fluid anyway bud for future cheers though! And yeah wheels are going black too!! Only garage work on brakes will be the rear disk change

never changed discs yourself ben? neil it's a simple job really mate :) i'm guessing it's the handbrake cable on the caliper fork that freaks you out a little bit

yeah its just the handbrake side of things ive never changed on the rears before :(i thought they were alot more complex and you need a tool to wind it back or something? i maybe wrong ?!

Also dont know if i mentioned this earlier ive fully removed the solid mounts now and sold them on, with the lowering springs there wasnt enough force and when turning the spring was jamming and snapping round with them on for some reaosn tried new bearings too... they were okay mod but not worth the money if im totally honest! if they were included within a coilover set up like neils im sure they work and will be worth it then but buying them seperate whilst lowering springs.... no go people haha

You don't need a windback tool. A pair of longnosed pliers can be used but that means pushing and turning without slipping off and damaging the piston boot.

So, after 20 years of improvising, I finally remembered to buy the tool before getting stuck in. Is it worth while... oh god yes.

would you know where i could get the correct one neil? also by any chance would you know the measurements of the inlet valve diameter and inlet port diameter on the standard head?

I just bought the Laser wind back tool, which works on the Twingo calipers and its got two sides to it, so could be used on larger pistons too.

Ive a picture somewhere of the cylinder head inlet port shape with measurements on it. What size the bores down to the valves were machined out to, I dont know as I never measured them.

i've had this 20 quid universal kit i got of ebay about three years ago and it's been spot on from day one, not found a car where it's not work it even worked on a bentley continental. it's awesome when you find a cheap little tool set and it lasts you for a lifetime

ahh ill have a look on ebay for a uni one then! and no i mean the stamdard mesurements neil just really for cuiosity

that's it ben, don't get me wrong i'm not going to insinuate it's the best of gear but daily use over three years it hasn't broke on me yet. i could only imagine how long it may last you if you used it once every two years for your own brakes. every mechanic has to have their shameful cheap tool, this is mines haha back to work before i get my backside kicked!
