Hi guys!

This is my first post so I'll introduce myself first. I've had my Twingo 133 (cup pack) for about 4 months now and I adore the little car. It's a genuine pocket rocket and I love driving it :D

However, I've got a small problem: my girlfriend scratched the bottom of the passenger door on a high sidewalk. You can't see it unless you get down on the ground so that's not really the problem. I'm just wondering if I should treat it with some kind of anti-corrosion black paint (my twingo is black) or something against rust. So please your advice!

Thanks!

If all the paint has been scrapped off down to metal then, yes I would do something.

Maybe dump girlfriend ;) lol, jokes, but seriously maybe a black eye so she knows her limits ;)

EDIT:pics?

agreed on the above and never give her the keys or let her in it again!!

I'll try and get a pic as soon as possible. The paint is all gone, not much damage but still down to the metal.

She didn't do it on purpose though. This is how it happened: We arrived at a bar, just the two of us and the opened door at the passenger's side just made it over the edge of the sidewalk. When we left however, two of my friends got in the back of my car so I could drop them. But when my girlfriend got in as the last person the car, the car was lowered by a centimetre or something because of all the people in it so it scratched the high sidewalk as she tried and close the door :s

Rub it down with some wet and dry paper, remove all the flaking paint if any and promptly paint over with high build primer (halfords or Renault touch up)
Leave for 24 hours, build up again if necessary with another coat and leave 24 hours.
Rub down with a sanding block and wet n dry paper to leave nice and smooth.
Apply a thin coat of Renault touch up in the colour of your car.
Rub down if necessary and final coat 24hr later with a thin layer of clear lacquer (renault touch up again)

You will prob get the primer and top coat in one kit from halfords (both touch ups together) think they do one with the lacquer too.
Will cost you about £10 or £12.

Get it protected as fast as you can, you then reduce the chance of any moisture/water creating rust.

Just dont leave it if its on the bottom of the door, as this is where the rainwater just hangs and drips.
