Just phoned up to book the Mrs 133 in for it's first service.

Firstly, I was told it was 2 years/12k where as I'm sure I've read 12k/12months, which is it? To be honest it's done 6,600 miles so the oil wants changing anyway but there's always conflicting info with Renault.

Back when I bought my Megane 225 some came out of the factory with 18,000 miles intervals showing on the clock and others 12,000!!

Aaanyway, does £209 sound a lot for a first service?? It does to me haha. Do they do anything other than change the oil and oil filter and have a look over it?

I paid £208.00 (+ discount) for my third service so it sounds a little high, but i did pay £230.00 for my second if that helps at all.

Creepy i just PMed you about the megane

Want me to look into the 133? PM me :)

Just had my 2nd year service done for £220.

When I was looking for my 133 I spent a lot of time collating info about the service schedule (due to a couple of the cars I looked at), and the service schedule changes depending on when the car was made. Around march/april 2009 sort of time, the schedule was changed from 12k/1year to 12k/2 years. I believe it should say the correct schedule for you in the service book :)

Hope that helps.

Thanks mate, appreciat the reply.

Wonder they they change their minds? I know with the 225s it was because they were set the same as the non-RS models then amended. Hence mine being a late Phase I 225 it was set to 12k.

Strange how Renault have actually increased the time frame. Admittedly, I'll still be sticking to yearly services as I just feel that 2 years is too long but I was wondering.

How much did you pay for your first service?

Just booked mine in for it's first/12,000..Seward Portsmouth £255.
Got a mate who uses Rentech, in Portsmouth...£175, with official parts and stamp. Needless to say shes booked in :)

No probs. Iirc from the Renault info, they have been going on a big quality drive, and this was part of their commitment to that and lowering the cost of motoring etc.

Can't tell you I'm afraid. Bought the car used, and the first service had been done by the dealer before I got the car. though I have found that by talking nicely to the peeps on the service desk at the good garages, you can get at least 10% off the service rrp. :)

Cheers for the info Dr, interesting how Renault are trying to get costs down for customers. Makes a change haha.

I'd consider Rentech or K-Tech but by the time I've driven there and back, as well as taking the time off to do it, it probably wouldn't work out cheaper for me. :(

Alex PM me details on the Twingo ill see what we can do on the 133 aswell.

Renault Wolves quoted 208£ for a 1st service
Online it only showed the service as available for my car??
Better get saving
Service: £821.27
Environmental Costs: £3.50
Total Cost: £824.77

Seems a bit expensive!! lol

The Mrs car was serviced today. Was £209.99 all together, we went halves on it so wasn't so bad.

They did try and tell us it was a 12k or 2 year service but keeping the same oil for 2 years is just wrong. 6,600 miles is enough on the same oil in my opinion haha.

Do you have a Evans Halshaw near you as they will price match . Thatd how i got my first service for £160 ( might of been less , ill check receipt).

Ii find 4-6k miles is best to change oil too , normally every 4k for me, and i find Fuchs Titan oil very good stuff , just dont tell renault thats whats in it haha.

I'm not sure I do mate. I do on the other hand have Mr Geeko not far from me which has saved me in the region of £600 on my Megane's cam belt service haha.

As for the oil, I don't think Renault will notice what type it is haha. I use Motul fully synthetic in the Megane. :)

Alex that whopper priced service was the 5th what do they do rebuild the engine?

If only they bloody did hahaha

Basically it's for the cam belt, which I believe involves hoisting the engine! Thing is though to have the cam belt and water pump replaced by my local dealership they wanted £1,500!!!!

Luckily Woking is about half an hour from me and with a far better quote I'd be silly not too. Being a two day job, taking it to a specialist like K-Tec would have added up to costing the same what with either two cars to follow me down and pick up or staying overnight somewhere.

I sorry for bring up an old thread but I can't find anywhere in my service book when the 1st service is due. I looked online and the e-guild says 1 year or 12k. When I bought the car I was told 2years- but in fairness the sales man did try to tell me the RS 133 has a 'small turbo'- not sure if he knew that much about the car! lol
