Been using a safety razor for a few years now, started off with a cheap one which still gives a far closer shave than any of these disposable, multi blade boll*cks!

Now I've got these two :

The build quality of both of them is superb and even though they're not cheap to buy initially, the blades last me 3-4 shaves and I can get 30 Feather blades for £8!

I've been using an artificial shaving brush but have asked for a proper badger brush for Xmas. :)

Maggi - You're not the only one who actually likes to take time to get a really good shave. Admittedly I only shave 2-3 times a week but when I do I like to do it properly.

I find 3 days growth ideal so about the same for me. Where do you get so many feather blades for that price? I can't remember how much I pay tbh since I bought my last pack 6 months ago. Spent te same on gillette multi blades and I'd have to have done the same all over again by now, probably twice

That is prety hard core if you use one regularly.
Well I kinda wish I did, no more buying expensive Gillette blades too and it's classy the old fashioned way.

I hate shaving and dont do it so often even till the stage when my boss at work hints i need a shave

Bleeding to death isn't classy.

I have been tempted by a safety razor before, so might have another look :)

On day one of shadow and gonna leave till I get too three!!

Then try and buy a trimmer for the ultimate stubble effect!!!

Was that last line a tagline from an advert? Sounds too perfect

No it wasnt an advert or the mods will have me as a trader, stubble in some places itches!

Hmm yeah certain stubble is itchy and sensitive. I remember this one time...

I shaved this morning, a rather more rushed shave, and I've just scrapped my face along my shirt and I can hear it :(

One of my dads friends has never had to shave more than once every 2 weeks. And that's questionable even then if it's needed! Lucky bugger

As much as I'd love to try one, there's a lot more preparation with a cut throat than even a safety razor.

Also risk of cutting your own face off as well!! Lol

Also I can't see how I'd get any closer than with my Merkur razor! Lol

Only ever used electric. Literally NEVER used a blade.

Current model is a Braun 8595 - I've had it about 7 years and change the foil/cutter every 18 months or so. Brilliant.

I do need a travel electric one as its a pain to shave whilst away with work. Any recommendations ?

Don't go for one of those that runs on AA batteries - they're feeble and the batteries last no time.

I'd always go for a rechargeable that will give one to two weeks before it needs recharging. Beyond that, I guess it depends how much you want to spend
