Well after some useful info from the folks on here I thought I'd return some info if it's helpful to others.

I took out the OEM (non upgrade) speakers. They're actually made by Blaupunkt but still gash!

These Alpine SXE-1325S 13cm speakers will fit in with relative ease to the OEM speaker housing.

As you can see these speakers have four sets of prongs for fixing them in place. You'll need to remove two sets of them as the OEM bracket only has space for two. Use a set of pliers to bend them down and they snap off neatly.

You can just make them out behind the standard grilles. The magnet on the back is probably double the size of the OEM units and sound ten times better.

Not bad for £30 a set. I think, teamed up with an under seat sub you'd have a really good little set up.

Hope that helps if people are worried about which ones will fit. These will with relative ease.

Do you still get your windows down , i once bought a set for my old twingo 1 and my windows only went down half cause of a to big magnet or is there enough space for the window in the twingo RS =D

do love the advice so i know which to buy when i want a bid more power out of the speakers cause when you hear a good song and whit the standard speakers you put the volume on 32 its not really allot of bass or loud

I must have the factory upgrade then, the sound in my twingo is the best I've ever had in a standard car and I'm a bit of an audiophile :-S a mate asked if I was going to put my sub in the new car and I said what for, it's reasonably bassy already :D

Windows go down absolutely find mate. In fact I put them down when I fitted them to make sure haha.

The magnets are double the size but not much deeper, so don't stick out any further than the OEM housing.

The sound from the upgraded OEM stereo is actually very good. My Gordini still sounds better just wished the Mrs had opted for it.

Are these speakers with the built in tweeter? i was thinking of getting the seperate tweeters to get fitted in the dash, apparently it brings the sound more to head level, other than comeing from down below.. Is it worth getting them seperate? any difference in sound/quality do you think?

Sounds like i good deal youve got, and i guess i could do it myself, but i wouldnt be able to do the tweeters myself..
I got a quote for like £120 or something (depending on which speekers i go for) for the 2 front door speekers, tweeters, all wireing and some soundproofing..

I've always liked the look of these alpine ones, what adapter do u need for them?
I've got the upgraded sound system and love the bass etc but I wouldnt mind spending £30 on even better front speakers

Or just get a sub and configure the settings....
Like I have done.

Underseat subs are good for filling out the sound and adding subtle depth to a mature sound. Not bass for bass sake. It's not music it's just noise!

I also believe heavy bass kills brain cells and I have evidence to support this

Renault specific? They look them?

Good quality actually, a little overpriced but I was happy to pay that for the plug and play element. Dynasty the door and it will really improve the quality

Do you mean soundproof it abit?
And yeah they are renault specific..
Ive seen a few reviews, very mixed.. mostly saying good quality, but not much bass, but are better than standard..
My standard ones crackle when theres quite abit of bass! well anoying.. gonna fit the door ones myself, and get someone to wire up the tweeters and sound proof the doors, if its a fuss to do it myself

No these are different. These are components and not coaxials. Coaxials try to do a lot of jobs in one. These are far superior. Upgrading these. Add you front speakers to the rear and fade them out a little. An Underseat sub and you'll have a decent budget system tbh. These will sound like theres little bass but you will suddenly learn what treble is.

And yes sound proofing, it does a LOT for the quality and depth. One of the best things you could do yourself

Ahh yes I didn't think of using the old speakers for the back, might invest in some better ones later on.. I spoke with someone about the dash tweeters and he explained that it brings the sound up from the floor, and gives a more clear sound.. Ide fit it all myself, but I wouldn't like to mess any wiering up.. The door ones are just plug in, so simple enough, save some dollar doing it myself, same with the sound proofing

Shouldn't cost much to wire the tweeters and wire the old speakers in the back, I hope.. One of those handy things to know, the know how of electricals! Wish I knew All that stuff

I did it all myself, easy peasy. The rear ones aren't for you. It's simply filling the sound out for those in the back. You shouldn't be able to hear them up front if set up correctly. The tweeters actually add treble. They're not just little speakers to add extra sound, they make a different kind of sound. You will probably need something to fill te bass out though, I have mine turned down a fair bit as it only added depth and not chavtastic bass. My music tastes don't suit that tbh, I'd rather cream myself to Matt bellamys voice than shake my filling out

Yeah I heard tweeters just give out higher frequency sounds.. I don't really have many songs, like you say Matt Bellamys voice with muse need little bass, aswell as my acoustic like songs, might eventually just get a small underseat sub for when I wanna crank it up abit!
Cheers for the input, can you point me in the right direction for Some decent soundproofing? I'm sure I can easily find a how to on YouTube

Ask a local audio store what they can do a deal on for the sound proofing. Incant remember what I used but it wasn't cheap exactly but my mate sorted me out. Said it was good stuff and he knows his stuff

Muse certainly does need bass and Chris wouldn't like you saying that! All music needs some, but the obsession with only bass and no treble, or in fact music that focuses only on bass seems silly to me

Yeah these are co-axial speakers so effectively and all in one speaker. Much like the standard, non updgrade ones but a lot better quality.

You will always be better off with a set of component speakers basically a separate bass/mid speaker and separate tweeter. The only thing to consider with a set of components is the price as they'll be more pricey and you've got to fit the tweeters in the dash so more fiddly.

If you have the stereo upgrade these Alpines won't give you any better sound. They're sharper than the non upgrade set up but not better than the separate components you get with the uprade.

As said, a sub is your best bet so you can fade the bass out to the other speakers, gain the bass from the sub and you'll get quite a lot more overall volume.
