How close was I for new born ;)

The power probably wouldn't make much difference as most head units are only pushing 40-50watts anyway. :)

I would have gone for some speakers with two fitments instead of four. These were the only speakers they had in Halfords but they had four fixings. Reason I went to Halfords is in case they didn't fit I had an easy way of returning them. wasn't sure if I would be able to just ignore the extra two brackets but you do need to remove them.

I just wanted to let people know these Alpines will fit with some minor, easy adaption. :)

My head unit isn't... Has the additional upgrade package (not cheap!) :D I love mates who work in audio workshops lol

Well 'most' units will only be pushing out 40-45watts. I'm assuming the additional upgrade package is basically an extra amp! lol

I just wish the Mrs had chosen the stereo upgrade instead of a bloody sunroof!!

Effectively. The base unit is an improvement over standard as it is but I guess the effect is the same as an amp. Much more compact though and as I'm not running pointless subs etc I don't require the additional power, I just got it in the deal he sorted ;) that and the hands free option

You can get a inline signal booster I have one on my sub to boost the signal from the standerd deck.

Is that a separate box that's mounted behind the dash or something like that? Sounds like a good idea for bumping up the usual sound you get from speakers.

Normally the output direct from the headunit is only really much good for door speakers and at a push some 6x9s.

I'm contemplating one of these for Tia's Twingo though :

My mate has two of these under the seat in his MR2. I installed the first one for him and it sounded really impressive. Two apparently sounds even better! :)

Yes and is headunit specific for mine. The headunit itself has some juicy specs and is lovely I just got it thrown in the deal.

There is nothing better than a really nice spec headunit with loads of toys built in. I've got one of these JVC units fitted in the Megane and was hugely impressed.

I've had various different Pioneer units so this was my first JVC one but it just does everything really well with the bonus if a bit display that plays DVDs should I wish! lol
