would it not be a better idea to measure the seating pcd of the ball joint and then measure the width of the thread (M10 etc) and then just get yourself the correct sized ball joint from any given ball joint manufacturer. that's perhaps your best approach guys
Oh if it was that easy

for you it is! i know you enjoy a good saturday afternoon measuring things up for your next adventure :p

Been there, done that and ive a few balljoints in the garage that don't fit.

1*2 arms, redrilled with VW balljoints on the end may work and theres also extended joints for them for roll center compensation.

Clio Cup racer setup may work but its spherical joint and an extension pin to connect the joint to the hubs. However, the pin will be too long for a 133 unless your running 17" wheels. Could make for some interesting handing as the wishbone angle will be pretty good :)

Still waiting for a phone call back from the car factors for the ball joints I will phone them later on this afternoon if I haven't heard back from them.

So, any update on this? I've just emailed Renault PL and hope that they will cover the cost of repair or at least participate in it.

I get the impression that the new wishbones (the ones with - -A) cast into them have a rubber ball joint boot that's much better than the earlier ones which had - - - markings.

If you spot your ball joint rubber perishing, you should be able to have the rubber replaced. Some boots appear on eBay and motor factors generally stock different sized ones, so you should be able to save the wishbone.

As for a replacement joint to go in if the joint is beyond saving, I've exhausted all the ones that I can think of and converting to Clio1*2 arms and bushes is really a non starter.

Does anyone know the part number for a new ball joint nut? As Renault don't supply the new lower arms with new ball joint nuts :x and I had to angle grind the old nut off :x

If anyone can help as my car is on axle stands until I find a nut!

If you want to help, why not just post the manufacturers part number or how to order it.
Ive tried over six variations and had a couple left to try. However, its fairly expensive at £20-£25 each... now youve found one, your being helpful at what would be £50each with the shipping. Do I sense some profiteering?

Profiteering? What is profiteering is the alternative of going to Renault and paying £175 each?....

Just saying ... :| :?:

+ 1

everyone with a 133 could chip in pennies via paypal and collect 50 as a club, and then buy one > part number and manufacturer > club profiteering on the profiteer.

well, to be honest, i expected these reactions.
I've found the part Numbers here in this forum. The ball joints are from the OEM.

The price for my joints is not very profitable, just covers my costs for searching, corresponding and stock holding.
Just for Info: You have a minimum order quantity of a 100 pieces, and a annual turnover worth an 133... Otherwise you won't get a response of OCAP. Please don't think that everyone can buy where Renault and other manufacturer buy there parts ;)

This is probably a another mistake from me. I just should have said that i am a dealer for classic car parts. Actually specialised on Italian and German Classic Sport Cars. Having problems with my Ingo, i just made an excursion to the new world

And please don't compare apple with pear. The RS has different lower arms as the normal Twingo, as everyone here knows. And the production volume is way lower than normal. So Renault has to reverse the engineering costs. And the higher prices you still find at the spare parts... Another info for you: The all joint of the 133 is unique. It will not fit at any other car on the market. Once again a reason why my acquisition price is over the 20-25GBP you mentioned in the thread above.

So i hope that you no longer believe that i want to earn a golden nose, exploiting your problems. I just want to sell 96 of the ball joints. 4 are for me  Some will ask if it is not cheaper just buy two arms at Renault. Well, probably it would be easier and "cheaper". But i love to find solutions ;)

I noticed mine were getting bad as well a couple of months ago when I changed my winter to summer wheels with Ghostz.

Renault has to earn money, otherwise the shareholders will punish them ;)
I still believe that making Cars like the Twingo RS is just a project for prestige. You can't imagine the costs for engine and chassis development. The amount of RS units never can amortise (in my opinion)

Back to your question: The ball joint is simple screwed in the arm. All you need to change is a solid bench vice and a groove nut socket.
If you can change the whole arm, you can also change the ball joint :D

If the joint won't get loose, a little warming will do the rest. If it's loose you can screw it out with your hand
