the finishkare isn't a particularly fussy sealant, but most sealants will not bond over an oily finish of any kind. Acrylic base is ideal, or IPA wipedown after machine polish.

Just to back up this comment, Finishkare is good stuff and very easy to use. Never had any problems with applying it after using SRP on the Mrs car. Good longevity from it.

whats the reccomended plan of action from the detailing fanatics then?

which priducts to use and in what order?

Shed the light on me

It's really up to you, mate. Either fill the swirl marks or try and remove them.

Lime Prime offers the best of both worlds, in my opinion, but everyone has their own preferences.

Order:

WASH - shampoo + mitt/detailing sponge + 2 buckets and 2 grit guards (for the 2 bucket method) + drying towel + glass cleaner + wheel cleaner.

For these stages, I sell: Dodo Juice Born To Be Mild shampoo, Dodo Juice Bucket Kit, Dodo Juice Soft Touch drying towel, Dodo Juice clearly Menthol and Dodo Juice Supernatural wheel cleaner.

DECONTAMINATE - Tar remover + clay & clay lube, to remove bonded contaminants like tar. For this, I sell Dodo Juice Tarmalade tar remover gel, Dodo Juice Supernatural clay and Dodo Juice Born Slippy clay lube.

POLISH - As above, you need to decide whether you want to remove defects or fill them and whether you want to do it by hand or machine. For this, I sell Dodo Juice Lime Prime and foam applicator pads.

WAX - There's loads of options for protection, I'll have the full range of Dodo Juice 30ml panel pots in next week, so it might be worth trying one of those (they're not very expensive), if you'd like to go down the Dodo Juice route :)

Send me an email if you'd like anything :)

Can't really add much to the above info really, that's how I'd go about it.

Only thing I would say is that correcting swirls without a machine will be a mission. I removed some etching from one black panel with Megauirs Swirl-X and it was bloody hard going. To do a whole car would take an age, I'd personally go with filling the swirls.

Give either Autoglym SRP a go or some Lime Prime Light, that should fill them pretty convincingly, then protect the finish with a decent wax.
