Wouldn't going down in profile make the speedo inaccurate by abit though?

You also need to remember that the profile is a percentage of the width, so 185/55 has a 101.75mm sidewall (55% of 185) and 195/50 has a 97.5mm sidewall. 205/50 takes it up to 102.5mm.

As you have to add in the width of the wheel (which remains the same) before you calculate the percentage difference in circumference, you will find that the inaccuracy in the speedo will be well within C&U allowances.

Or - alternatively - try willtheyfit.com

The trouble with sites like that is statements like this

"The strut shown in the diagram is for show only - Don't worry if the wheel looks like it fouls!"

Whilst that one may not be a problem, the one on your car could be, as can fixing in the arch, and the arch itself.

wouldnt worry about the speedo differences, not as bad as you would think, manufacturers i wouldnt imagine change anything when a car is specced with optional extra bigger wheels

great tyres, had 205/40/17's running on every car i've ever owned, and i'm always booting the backside out of all of those cars including the s14a running negi as hell. always got more than 5,000 miles out of them on the silvia. on my smaller hatches i've got closer to 10,000 before getting to 1.6m of tread. deffinately a more noticeable increase in grip over the standard conti's, a lot more gentle on the wear side and i've never felt like i was going to fall off the road sideways. no issues with aqua plaining either, yet.

there seems to be massive negative press on some sites on their wet performance however ive always found them brilliant in the went, infact no better or worse than PE2's, Conti 3's etc
