Is it worth doing? I am off to afghan in april and will have a bit of cash when I get back and am thinking about either getting something a lot faster or just slapping a massive turbo on it.

Anyone done it to a 133 and what's it like? Is it worth doing?

As far as I know, no-one's done it to a Twingo 133...bit of a ballache trying to Turbo Highcomp engines safely.
I know RS Tuning in Leeds are eager to try and develop one, or a Centrifugal supercharger - No Lag.

Get in touch with them.

be the 1st mate!! would be awesome to see.

do it!!

although for the money it would cost u, u could by a megane 225!!

I think the supercharger would very much compliment the rag it nature of the Twingo :) and means you get ALL the exhaust noise as well as intake noise.

AND, if you put a dump valve on the intake pipe, you'll get a constant chatter whenever you lift off at high revs due to the supercharger's constant spool :D

How much would I be looking at spending for a decent output and what would the likely results be bhp wise?

£5-6K for the kit (ive already enquired about a rotrex), for that money + 133 you could of bought a 200, as the insurance rise on a supercharged twingo was stupid.

and 50-70bhp approx depends how much psi of boost you run tho (pretty sure its per psi of boost you get roughly 8-10 crank horsepower)

ITB's are the way forward -> general-twingo-renaultsport/power-kit-for-twingo-133-t3341.html

I don't recall N2O being mentioned as an option? Unless you have it in use constantly, the initial outlay and running cost would be cheaper than ITB's or supercharger

Insurance is just a case of doing the legwork and finding a specialist that understands specialy modified cars, where the owner is more likely to care for the motor.

What about the internals ? How much can they take lots of megane f1 have blown engines on stage 2

I really fancy supercharging it. It's all good going out and buying a car that is fast already but it gives you more satisfaction when you buy a car that you love and make it faster and make it your own.

Oh, and you can remind me that when I inevitably look into itbs

So you maybe interested in the AT power itbs? more people i can say are interested cheaper the price will be.

We know they can take 133 + a bit, however nobody has found out what they can't take yet as we haven't had any one do a significant conversion and discover they have gone too far.

A stage 1 on a Meg is a significant increase and a stage 2 is another significant increase again, which is hardly surprising the weak points are being found.

We could do this for you.

Take a look at the turbo 172 we have just built,

renaultsport-clio/turbo-172-t4711.html

Any idea as to costs?

I could be tempted by a supercharger in a moment of absolute weakness

Beauty of 133 is its power to weight ratio. I think a turbo would just make it manic and in search of the nearest hedge when the power came on tap. You would also have to lower compression ratio unless you enjoy spending weekends replacing head gaskets and engine internals / gearboxes etc. Not to mention destroying the Renault warrenty. Management remap be safer.
