I've been looking at performance cams for my 1.6 16V Clio and after some research, I've noticed that the Twingo 133 cams are a similar spec to the higher performance options offered by Catcams / DBillas etc.

As my Clio has no VVC, my question is, do the VVC cams from a Twingo fit the non-VVC head or are they completely different? Obviously, without VVC, the low end torque will suffer but that's the same for most cam upgrades.

Second question is, does the 133 inlet manifold fit the non-VVC head? The OE design with the TB at the rear of the engine is a bit tight and the runners are fairly small, which is fine for popping to Tesco but not so great for top end power.

Thanks, Andy

Ive two sets of 133 cams. One set out of mine and another older set that were used for the CatCams template... this set doesnt have the timing trigger wheels on.

I know the standard 133 cams are much more aggressive than earlier engines.

Wether they would fit physically fit and oil pasageways work????

I see from search results, that you have dealt with catcams in the past. If you still gave a contact there, perhaps you would be so kind as to ask them if the vvc and non vvc cams are interchangeable from a design perspective? Would be most interesting to know.

Looking at inlet valve lift on the vvc and non vvc cams, it does look like the Twingo cams may have too much lift, as most aftermarket cams are significantly lower. The exhaust cam looks fine though...

Yes, the inlet cam lift and duration on the RS133 is more aggressive than the Sport profile 5502704. The Exhaust cam isn't as severe, having the same lift as your current cam, but more duration.

Matt Saville may be able to help if the VVC cams would fit into a non-VVC head... Although, you probably wouldn't know for certain untill trying to fit them as theres the large square cam profile on the exhaust stick which may foul your head casting.

For just the postage, I can easily send you the ones which don't have the timing wheels on so you could try them in a head.

use cam for 1.6 16V

they are plenty

133 will not work properly
your ecu will not understand the VVT

I guess you can adapte the manifold from the 133
but nobody now if it's plug and play ^^

Cheers for the offer singlespeed, that's very kind of you :D

I'll need to take some time to take the rocker cover off and have a look in there to see what it looks like and how difficult it'll be to take it to bits. I'll also need to get a timing tool set. With the weather at the mo, it'll be a little while but I'll keep your offer in mind.

As I paid less for the car than a set of catcams, I'm just interested in parts bin tuning, rather than doing things properly...

The low inlet is different i have tried.

Oh well, worth a thought :) Cheers for letting me know. From looking around, there do seem to be rather a large number of K4M variants!

What do you think, might they work in my 2005 MeganeII with VVT-K4M?
