I have been debayeing with one my mates who currently owns a Vauxhall Astra VXR Nurburgh (however that spelt) and he thinks he is invincable till the other day he was caught up by some mad man in a Renault Twingo...now i have no idea what model it was but it was stupidly qucik off the mark not as quick as the VXR but was up are ass for fair wile...

my question is what top speeds are people getting from there tingos and which model is quickest...what speeds have ppl got ther cars before topping.. :?

Are we really wanting to discuss breaking the law on a public forum. Private land it wouldnt be a problem on though ;)

obvo we were driving in a field when this fast twingo came up along behined us reason he was close behined was because we were toweing him of corse...
what is said to be top speed tho in the books of the top model...?

I know a RS to go 135 still pulling and a GT topping out at 129

thaught around that my mate is convinced they cant hit more than 125 but as i said no way would a twingo keep up with the VXR it is stupidly quick but this twingo was fast lol

The GT was remapped, exhuast, filter, boasted at 2k erm yea

I did watch one review wheere they struggled to get an rs past 120 on the autobahn. But I assume it wasn't loosened up at all at this point. TBH I'm not fussed with top speed whatsoever :p

Topspeed is done by gearing but to be fair you shouldnt need to use it your better off with tighter gearing to move up the gears quicker

i will let u know after its been on track at FCS :) the book says 125 so i imagine it will be around that, maybe less but FCS will b the place to find out

hit 85 around stand/finish line area at FCS/ silverstone got 95 on back straight

Doubt an RS would do more than the claimed 125, most speedos can me 10% out at high speeds so flat out a Twingo might claim it's doing 135 but in real terms would be only doing 125 ish

The Twingo is not geared for high end top speed and the RS is 131 BHP with 1049KG so it's never going to be rocket fast, you want fast top end get a rep mobile withe long gearing

The VXR is much faster than teh Twingo but not so sure once you throw bends into the mix, not been in one but the reviews I've read have said (like teh Astra VXR) a bit duff in the handling dept

The 133 will keep up with a Focus RS500 around corners. Straight line not so much

Mine will only do 69.9mph on an empty motorway. Around town, I'm lucky if I can wind it up to much above 28 or 29

Mine does 70 + 10%....

I was having a little play out tonight with a few of my mates including one with a modified/lightened and remapped Swift Sport.

He did say that he would not have got past me if there wasn't a car in front of me, which was good to hear.
They kept slagging the Twingo off for being a "fake Renaultsport" and all show and no go, was good to hear them complimenting it for once =P

Well ive seen 154 on the clock before but i had changeed it to km for the fun of it :D
but ive had 134 out of mine on my private 5 mile driveway :p

best ive had is 133...funnily enough...obvioussly on an abandoned airfield..clearly.

I'm not even sure why; surely no one bought the 133 for it's top end?!
