Slight update:-

On Saturday on the way to the Renaultsport National meet the little chramer fought it would put the airbag light and service light on like the Clio 2s do except it wont go out!

The cars sitting out the back of work in the car park awaiting to come in thw orkshop to be diagnosed! Fingers crossed it just needs the fault clearing down and nothing else.

Yea i was on the phone to a techy at work

Its been in and out. Was the connector under the seat like the clios. Its all been cleared down now :)

Maybe your rusty plugs and coils weren't the result of your cleaning fetish :?

I washed my car yesterday and afterwards, opened the bonnet to wipe the usual dust and muck off from within the engine compartment. I noticed that water had dripped from the wiper mechanism and also from the center of the scuttle panel where the fixed and removable sections meet. The drips from the center were landing on the coil pack which would probably explain why there has been a few reports of rusty plugs/coils.

I know Karl (Twingogeekeo) had a couple of rusty plugs and corroded coil packs but assumed it was a result of using chemical cleaners to clean his engine bay. My spare cylinder head had a couple of corroded plugs (the two nearest the throttle body) when I stripped it down ready for sending away. The plug bores which contained the two rusty plugs were also thick with horible deposits, indicating this was a long term issue. I haven't taken the plugs out on my engine yet, but I would imagine they will be starting to rust if water has been dripping onto the area for the past year.

As this is potentialy a widespread problem, would Renault consider developing an engine cover which would prevent water reaching the coil/plug area. Or, developing an alternative scuttle tray which doesn't cause drips in this critical area?

Right today i have got the orginal spark plugs and ignition coils back and given Mulgari the new ones to fit to my car so me can get the mapping session going again.

Looking at the pitures you will be able to see why the mapping wasnt being contuined till now and also the spark plugs have been passing gases that would effect BHP. Now these are being replaced we can get mapping and get the final results soon for you :)

But yes lesson learnt on what im cleaning my engine with!

Sorry for the poor picture was taken on my phone.

My scuttle tray had come loose and water got into my throttle body. An alternative would be beneficial so this doesn't happen to other people.

Any chance you could take a photo of what you noticed under your bonnet for the rest of us to compare? :) We could possibly get a poll going of "does your bay look like this" to send a stat of what percentage of us (as a fair sample) are experiencing this to RUK.

Karl, I've read thro the whole thread again but cant see the definitive gains & graph from your Mulgari tuning session.

I know the provisional graph was shown and you said they hoped to see another 6-8 bhp.
I'm interested to know what the final figures and curves look like.

I have experience of Pauls remapping at RS Tuning, and see waitey is over the moon with his GT, but the 133 is a different animal, no boost to tweak.

Mulgari sounds promising based on your opinion.
