There are currently over 450 mentions of the word tyre in the forums and that might take a while to navigate through.

I have a Twingo RS with the Cup chassis and have 195/40/17s on it at the moment. I am wondering what other sizes people have on and what benefits they offer. Going over speed bumps (even at 5mph) can be harsh and potholes are a nightmare.

A bit of help on this will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'm going 205/40/17 on my cup, and going for toyo proxys t1r's. Not a hard tyre so fronts won't get to 15k but shit loads of grip :)

Just fitted some new tres to the new beast, 205/40 R17 based on what a lot of you have recommended- Pirelli P Zeros @ £71.50 delivered each from TyreLeader.com - came in 48hrs then had to have them fitted at a garage with the tracking as the tyres that came with the car were worn to canvas and metal on the inside of the fronts. That was another £120.
So I'm £406 lighter but with four new boots and perfect tracking- massive improvement and such good fun cheesing it about especially today being so quiet!
Loving the revvy little beast, wicked little addition to the Megane 300!

Christ that's cheap!!!

Yeah that's what I thought- my usual two cheapest places were £90+ for a brand name tyre.
Tyre leader is my new fave!

£190 for a tyre usually for my Megane, £132 from there!

That`s a bit naughty that the place you got car from let the tyres go like that. Ebay auction or not, I would have thought they`d give the car a check over.

Yeah me too, my bro was really angry and said I should call them but tbh it's just lots of hassle and they'd prob want me to pop back which is 3hrs each way.
They were low tread anyway and budget ditch finders.
I was just lucky they didn't kill me, especially when testing the "capabilities" of the little beast!

Well the good thing is you and your Twingo survived! I must admit, I`ve come across some shocking garages in my time. Whether you spend a little or a lot on a car, you should still recieve the best standard of service available, especially considering your car then goes out on to the public highway. Anyway, hope you had a good christmas and look after and enjoy your Twingo! Cos they are fantastic little cars!

Poor tyres like that are usually the sign of a poor owner, which is never good, hopefully you can nurse the car back into good shape, good rubber really does make a difference! Coming from someone that went from nexen + autogrip tyres ( awful) to 3mm Michelin (payed £60 + wheels) to AD08Rs (5mm) they really do stick like glue, not bad in the wet either
