I was out last night and got stopped by traffic police because of my german number plates. They gave me a lecture about how speed and anpr cameras can pic the plates up. I stood there and didn't say a word or be rude for him to say here's your fixed £30 fine and by the way dvla r bein informed so if u get cought again there take your plate off u. I was so pissed off I said I've got the proper plates in my boot but still they fines me. When I got home I went on the net to pay it after puttin all my details in turns out he gave me a £60 fine not £30 lyin ****

Not good....but im confused... why do you have german number plates on? It's a UK registered car right?

That sounds pretty bastardish.

Did he think you were trying to get away with speeding through cameras by having German plates on or something odd like that?

Serves you right, you don't have legal plates therefore you got the required penalty.

I bet you had a "great" attitude with the officer too, so I bet that "helped".

Sorry, no sympathy.

I didn't give him attitude once. Yeah u can say what u want but there r people driver or Ridin bikes with worse things then my number plates and gettin away with it. How many bikes do u see with the tiny number plates on and the loud xzorsts?? All he could of done was give me a warnin I put my proper plates back on in front of his face

If you can't do the time don't do the crime.

Man up accept you f'd up, and AFAIK there's no such thing as a £30 fine they went up ages ago. In fact the max fine is £1k count yourself lucky!!

Dazza. You can get pressed plates with the BS mark, so they are legal. However, they will look like british plates, as they would have to have the correct font and spacing, unlike your german plates.

Did the penalty notice have the cost of the fine written on it? If it stated £30 on the written ticket, it may be worth a nice word at the station as theres an error if the cost shown online. Either that, or just post off the ticket with a cheque for the cost shown.

At the end of the day, you were breaking the law, maybe only in a minor way, which could have been shown some discretion by the officer. Others do get away with it, for a while at least

Singlespeed the plates looked English they had the correct spacin ask Karl or anyone who has seen my car that the plates look normal. R have to check later about the fine sum cos I just went and paid it when I got home. The policemen was even nice a gave me a leaflet on how u should have your number plates and all the letter sizes

If he didn't want sympathy he wouldn't have created the thread or at least wanted people to agree that all coppers are ;&(@:

Obviously other people have agreed with me yet you don't jump on them.........

whilst I agreed with the fact of Dazza had actualy broken the law, so a fine was justified,

implying that his attitude was out of order and made the situation worse was just your opinion and not presented in the most tactful way

I also agree mr Ben, don't do the so called crime if you don't want to pay the fine. However sometimes your comments can come across the wrong way and on the bad side of aggressive. Commenting on how he acted in the situation isn't on as only he knows how he acted.

They only come across that way you want them to come across that way ;)

Careful you lot agreeing with me or else you'll be tarred and feathered too for not agreeing blindly to what people put ;)
