40 PSI on a long journey will not cause it to blow. Have run 60 PSI drifting once upon a time and they get a tad hotter... ;)

40 PSI does seem a bit much excessive for a small hatch though. If you read the label is also states 38 PSI all round if the car is fully loaded.

I've always stuck to the 35 front 31 rear as per the label, sometimes stick a couple extra in but never more than that, it's just not needed.
