Just did a test on insurance prices, and I just got a quote for an 133 for £945!!! and i'm effing paying £900 for my GT now!!!!

8 months ago I was getting quoted £3000 - £4000, surely turning 20 couldn't have made such a huge difference. Or is it messed up for the RENAULT TWINGO RENAULTSPORT 133 SILVERSTONE GP version?

I'm feeling pretty depressed right now knowing that I could've had one, but bought a GT instead.

Also I also found out that I could have had a 182 clio for £1100 a year :(. AHHHHFHRHRHAHFNMAJJAJ!!! (mashy mashy keyboard)

Isn't it cause of the make girls pay the same scheme? My insurance is due in few month and I got a qoute of £303 for my cup and I'm 28 :) :) :)

My insurance went up at a similar time also.

I guess statistically whatever group you fall into you're likely to crash one car more than you are another, and either you're in a different category, the premiums for your category have reduced, or the vehicle is statistically safer depending on who can underwrite the policy

I've mentioned it a couple of times but mines going down by over £300, i have turned 21 since my last insurance started though...

My cup renewal by swift cover is £100 cheaper minimum than my citroen c1 10 months ago (used compare the Market all the time to get the teddies :) )

You know you can change your car on your current policy?

I can change my I-music for an rs twingo without paying any extra this year (my insurance has dropped that much!) and I'll still get my no claims for the year

I thought something like this before, about the insurance companies not having their details correct on some models.

2 years ago I did a test quote on a R32 GTR and got quoted £700 fully comp from the post office. Seemed extremely low compared to what others were charging at the time.

Been told in the past it can be something to do with how many people your age will have something like that...

Exactly. Which is why for my brother we would consider an older 316/318 as to buy and insure its looking the same as a corsa. And face it, you would rather have one of them. And the reason is statistically none of them are binned by 17 year olds :p

Well after this recent development I may decide to part ex my Twingo and maybe get a Megane RS Cup, seeing as these are coming up rather cheap too. Or I may get a Fiesta ST which is also very cheap from what i'm used too.

So my stay in the Twingo family may be a very short one. XD

a Fiesta ST will get killed buy a mapped and slammed gt

I had the same scenario when I was 21.

I was on my second 1.2 Clio as I'd always been sensible and opted for a small engine for my first two cars. Then did a random quote through Elephant on a Clio 172 and it wasn't much different so sold my Clio Grande and bought a 172 instead. :)

Ye that's pretty much me, my first car was a 1.1 shed, and then I got the 1.2 GT. Meanwhile my mates are flying around in 1.8+ engined cars.

Also what are the 172/182's like, a few of my mates who have had them have informed me that you'll spend most of your time with your bonnet up.

As much as I would want more bhp, it's how it drives that does it for me.

I've considered a few times for buying a Laguna Coupe 2.0 DCi or a 1.8 Vtec Honda Civic but I would miss this car way too much. It may be weird but I bought this car in a very bad moment in my life and it kinda cheered me up and got my out of my dip. It would hurt too much selling it, atleast now.

Fiesta ST's you have to spend a small fortune to make them fast. still think the gt would win. if i was in your position i would opp for the meg :D
