The thing is I can only get the insurance for really cheap in the Megane if I allow them to throw in a Telematics box :/ (Apparently if this box detects that I have gone over 100mph, or are regularly +5mph over the speed limit, then they could terminate my policy with no refunds )

screw that have you had a look at clio 197 they seam to be cheaper on insurance

Lol ye... whats the point in buying a car like that and not being able to break the rules once in a while (not that i do that :roll: )

And very interesting, a 197 is cheaper than the megane on a normal insurance. Good job, good job... may take a look into them now then

I got quited £1800 on a 197 f1 team right now.. Oh dear god..

Its looking likely i may have a better job soon, if so, one of those is mine!

I got £1400 fully comp which I should be to haggle down to £1300 maybe. and that's only £400 more than my Twingo. I only work 3 days a week at Asda :L so my job isn't the best. The only reason I can afford this is that I don't drink alcohol or smoke so i've been able to save a lot, plus I have 2 cars (both with under 50k miles on the clock) ready to be part exchanged. So hopefully that should cover it.

I'm gonna continue to look at other hot hatches to see what tickles my fancy.

Insurance is nuts! Glad I'm 40 now, RS225 & RS250 and the misses SLK350 all for £725 a year with Admiral multicar

I remember the days of stupid insurance and I drive just as we'll now as I did years ago!

Ha! I didn't think it was going to get any better after £350 both years I've had the Twingo - MUCH improved over other cars I've had - but a test quote shows that if I move I can have this year for under £250. And being Sheila's Wheels I'd get £300 of handbag cover for free! WHERE DO I SIGN UP?!

just something to thing guys....

the nicer cars might be cheaper to insure now-a-days but don't be fooled... they are much more expensive to keep on the road and fix if something goes wrong
