Wheels or coilovers ???

Got a little bit of money, should I get new wheels and tyres, thinking of downsizing to 16"

Or should I get coilovers ???

I don't know what to do :/

Help !!!!
 
Think new wheels effect more positive ......Cup Chassis is really good....no need to mod it.

Cup Wheels weigh aroumd 12,? Kg and my new Enkei 17" weigh 8,2 Kg per Rim.

So i saved around 17 Kg and better Suspension-Performance.

If u have Cup-Chassis just get H&R Springs....with that u have an awesome Performance....believe me....gettin low isnt everything.

Coilovers just make sense if u have Standard-RS.
 
If you're gonna downsize wheels go for 15s! Tyres are loads cheaper and you can go lower ;) I just spent £400 on a set of Yoko AD08s, which you can get on 15s for about £280. If you've got the cup chassis, coilovers will make an improvement regardless but the handling on a cup is very good anyway!

I have cup chassis and I'm running apex springs and 20mm spacers, fully stripped with front and rear strut braces, solid top mounts,

It handles very well and tbh I will get both I'm just wondering which to to first hahah

Turn in is better, ride comfort is non existent. I have a bucket and harness so my back is pretty much destroyed. On the road it's really not worth it, on the track is probably where you would see the difference. But I didn't have them on when I did my last track day so I couldn't tell you how much difference they make. I would say probably a better investment than the upper strut brace though cus they are cheaper and probable make more of an improvement

I scared myself a couple of weeks ago so I have been driving very slowly and it's horrible but if your on it all the time I imagen it's not too bad

My tires are running low on the back and I'm not happy with the ones on the back so I think wheels would be better but in order to have the wheels I need the coilovers for it to look right hahaha arhhhhh
 
Always coilovers first, that way you can get the ride height & handling just right and you can avoid the look of small wheels + standard ride height lol

He already has lowering springs as he said.

And if he needs to replace tyres its a waste to replace them and then a few months down the line to get new wheels and tyres anyway.

PLUS you'll have to change the ride height if he got smaller wheels anyway.

7kg a rim :)

I wanted the oz ultraleggeras but they are quite a bit more money :/ and these look similar.
 
Knock up some Renault centre caps and they'll look smart.

Popped my gloss black cup alloys on carries car earlier and it's highlighted the need for coilovers, you'll probably get away with it with springs though.
