If you're talking the new Polo GTi, then the Polo would eat a Twingo 133 in a straight line without even getting out of breath. Polo has same performance as a Clio 200.

Not a polo buy a mk4 golf gti decided to play with me up royal artillery way hill

he was a fair bit quicker in a straight line which is odd as i thought they were only 150bhp not stupidly pull away quicker but at least 3 car lengths per gear.

Completely outbraked him on the 'karussel' roundabout and undertook lol i dont think he was impressed when i came back off the further roundabout towards him giving the limp wrist out the window :)

Not all are too slow, most were. But some have had crazy remaps. I tried it on stupidly when in a hurry to pick someone up an was late. Then it was bye bye from mr gti  absolutely vanished

golf gti turbo can get 200bhp just from a remap.

the polo gti in that shape has the same 150bhp iirc but they can be remapped to silly speeds too

The later ones were 180hp as standard and remaps/mods get over 200 reasonably easy. Theres also a decent amount of torgue lower down the rev range

The Mk4 was withot doubt the worst handling Golf. Without altering the suspension pickup points or wishbones, it's best to leave the ride height prety standard. That said, its still a capable car despite being at least 9 years old. So, it may not handle the best, but he probably chooses not to drive like a prat all the time... Fair play ;)

No wonder honda made the slogan bye bye gti! A 180bhp car should definately be better than that but they are pretty heavy i guess!

And i take corners like a mental person :)

Im 28 so im safe when i do it believe me ive been 'boy racing' most of my life, trackdays etc and i drive for a living so i know a vehicle and its limits very well, I'm not one of those out of control ...... who you see on the roads nearly causing crashes etc.

Way i see it is i didnt buy a performance car to get stuck behind people!

So the Golf probably beat you going up the hill whilst on half throttle, not having a race and not needing to prove anything.

We get the idea and pity anything round the corners

Were all safe untill something happens that you werent quite expecting. Unless your a profesional rally driver then driving for a living doesn't give any greater skills as your never anywhere near the limits. As a profesional driver, what would it mean to loose your licence for dangerous driving?

Errm, you didn't buy a performance car, its a Twingo ffs
