I drove the wifes 1.5 dci scenic last night and to put it simple found the clutch is f**ked. Its done 29k and the clutch is riding high. Is this under warranty? It runs out in january

you would be extremely lucky if you manage to get a clutch under warranty

but u may have more joy if you contact customer services
u may get a contribution ;)

Cheers turbo r give RUK a call. Can it be anythin to do with the electronic Parkin brake aswel?? Sometimes u put strain on the clutch takin it off

I got told it wasn't covered by the warrantee in the third year on a 3yr old 2nd hand meg is just bought, luckily the still had the dealer warrantee

Did you get anywhere with this/phoning RUK?? If the biting point is high it sounds like its slipping, drive it around much longer and it'll struggle to move off etc. Clutch shouldn't be going at 29k though unless its been ragged.

Helped a stranded elderly lady out last year whos clutch did the same in her Micra, she was on the main road but just managed to pull into my street. Poor woman didn't have any breakdown cover and the service department at the Nissan dealer was closed as it was a Sunday although luckily one of my neighbours gave her a lift home.

Just gonna get my mate to fit a new clutch sam. Renault wanna strip the gear box down then charge me if were at fault. So I'm not willin to pay them silly money when my mate can do it

With had her clutch done today with the grand total cost of £880. My friend took it apart and it also needed a new fly wheel cos the old 1 had had it. Heres a couple of pics of how much stuff he had to take to get to the clutch

Most french diesel engines have them. They are awful things. Proper expensive

When the bill came back for the clutch on my 1.9dci meg it was in the region on £1200. If RUK didnt pay 99% i would of got a uprated single mass fly.

first link i found sort of explaining it https://www.high-impact.net/transmission_and_gear/DualMassvsSolidFW.htm

edit, it doesnt explain anything, will find another link
I've keep the parts bob to send to RUK. The fly wheel is rattling around instead of bein solid. The price I paid was to fit new shoes and discs aswel

Be persistent with RUK because there's a widespread problem with dual mass flywheels. Renault and many other manufacturers are regularly paying for them to be replaced and changed to single mass outside of warranty. Being the original owner will also help your case with them.
