I've got a new laptop as well which unfortunately came with Windows 8.
If it had touchscreen then I think it'd be alright, but I've already disabled things and installed applications that make Windows 8 act more like Windows 7 because I really don't like the new interface.
I've got Windows 7 on there dual booting but the speed of Windows 8 is what makes me want to keep it. Though when I move it onto the SSD I might have to stick with Windows 7 as the reason 8 boots so quickly (and takes so long shutting down) is because it essentially hibernates when you shut it down. Hibernation + SSD = premature failure.
