Damn psi makes no sense to me :p so if I understand it right 42 psi which is 2.89 bar is too high or atleast the max pressure it should get?

Think mine is too high, this morning I had some major understeer, felt the car lift off in a corner, released the throttle and gave a nodge on my steering wheel and felt the grip returning.

Think I put my 15" winter tyres on 3 bar but I reckon it's too much :?

So I should try between 32 psi (2.20 bar) to 42 psi (2.89 bar)?
what size and load index are they? XL rated or not?

I'll look up the comparative pressures.

Max load 412 kg (908 LBS)
Max pressure 300 KPA (44 psi) cold
175 55 15
Presa Snow Wintermaxx

175/55/15 tyres only have a load index of 77, so with the size factored in, the load capacity is quite a bit lower than the originals :(

With the original Wind tyres having load ratings at the placard pressures of :-
205/40/17 84XL
35psi (2.4bar) / 948lb
39psi (2.7bar) / 1036lb
43.5psi (3bar) / 1102lb (there is no load increase above 42psi for XL rated tyres)

You can see that the maximum load capacity of 908lb for your tyre (175/55/15 77) is actualy less than the minimum load capacity of 948lb at the recomended pressure of 35psi / 2.4bar for the standard Wind tyre.

Running at 36psi or more will give the maximum load capacity for your tyre, up to the maximum inflation pressure. So, running between 36 and 44psi would be best but probably not ideal.

I see, well thanks for clearing that out.

Will be the last winter I'll use them though, next winter I'd want a winterset of 16'.
